DEPARTING JOHANNESBURG

DAY 1 SUN - JOHANNESBURGOn arrival in Johannesburg, you’ll be met by your representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure (unescorted). Meet at reception at 19h00 for a tour briefing and meet fellow travellers.

DAY 2 MON - JOHANNESBURG » MPUMALANGA [B]After breakfast, depart Johannesburg for a short tour of Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city, before continuing to Mpumalanga. Driving through the lush Lowveld, travel to Hazyview, the safari hub of the Kruger National Park.

DAY 3 TUES - MPUMALANGA [B]After an early breakfast, drive along the Panorama Route and enjoy spectacular scenery including the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window with its views of the escarpment (weather permitting). Return to Hazyview to relax.

DAY 4 WED - MPUMALANGA [B]Enjoy an early morning game drive (in open safari vehicle) in the Kruger Park with a packed breakfast. Kruger is one of the world’s greatest national parks, home to the Big 5 (rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, and elephant) as well as prolific birdlife and other game. The afternoon is at leisure. Late afternoon game drives are available (optional & for own account).

DAY 5 THURS - MPUMALANGA » ESWATINI (SWAZILAND) [BLD]This morning, travel to Eswatini (Swaziland), an independent Kingdom within the borders of South Africa. An interactive cultural experience introduces us to the people and traditions of Eswatini. We travel to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley. Overnight in Eswatini.

DAY 6 FRI - ESWATINI (SWAZILAND) » ZULULAND [B]After breakfast, continue south through Eswatini (Swaziland) before re-entering South Africa. Travel to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Enjoy an afternoon open vehicle safari with an English speaking game ranger (optional & for own account). Overnight Hluhluwe-Imfolozi region.

DAY 7 SAT - ZULULAND » DURBAN (UMHLANGA) [B]Join a morning cruise on Lake St Lucia (weather permitting) before departing for Durban. Your journey takes you past traditional Zulu kraals, Eucalyptus plantations and sugarcane fields. Arrive early afternoon to explore golden Indian Ocean beaches at leisure. Overnight in Durban (Umhlanga).

DAY 8 SUN - DURBAN (UMHLANGA) » KNYSNA [BD]After breakfast, transfer to Durban Airport for the short southward flight to Port Elizabeth, where our representative will meet us and, once everyone has arrived, we set off to visit the spectacular Tsitsikamma Park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting). Overnight in Knysna.

DAY 9 MON - KNYSNA [BL]After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where we can take a trailer ride up the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure for further explorations.

DAY 10 TUES - KNYSNA » OUDTSHOORN [BL]Travel via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the centre of the world’s ostrich farming industry. We’ll visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and light lunch, before touring the limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

DAY 11 WED - OUDTSHOORN » CAPE TOWN [B] There is an option (for own account & subject to availability) to enjoy an early morning Meerkat Safari. After breakfast, continue through the ‛Little Karoo’ to Barrydale to visit a local farm school and interact with the children and teachers (subject to the school being open) before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque spa town. Continue to Cape Town, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain. (The tour will travel via Franschhoek if there are guests booked on the Franschhoek Winelands option.)

FRANSCHHOEK WINELANDS OPTIONSpend an optional night in Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by vineyards. Also included is a tour of the town and a wine tasting. (A night in Franschhoek replaces night 11 in Cape Town).

DAY 11 WED - OUDTSHOORN » FRANSCHHOEK [B]Enjoy an optional (for own account) early morning Meerkat Safari. After breakfast, travel to Barrydale to visit a local farm school (subject to the school being open). Continue to your overnight accommodation in Franschhoek.

DAY 12 THURS - FRANSCHHOEK » CAPE TOWN [BD]After breakfast, tour Franschhoek, discovering its fascinating history. Enjoy a wine tasting before continuing to Cape Town, where you’ll rejoin the main tour for an authentic dinner and show.

DAY 1 TUES - JOHANNESBURG » KRUGER NATIONAL PARK [D]From your hotel, head east to Mpumalanga. After freshening up at your lodge, enter the Kruger National Park and spend the afternoon game viewing (closed vehicle). Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 WED - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK [BD]Head off on a thrilling open vehicle game drive through the Kruger National Park, with an English speaking game ranger and packed breakfast. Return to the lodge for lunch (own account). Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing (closed vehicle).

DAY 3 THURS - MPUMALANGA [BD]Explore the magnificent Panorama Route, one of the most scenic drives in the region offering glorious views, spectacular landscapes and exquisite waterfalls.

DAY 4 FRI - KRUGER NATIONAL PARK » JOHANNESBURG » CAPE TOWN [B]Travel to OR Tambo International Airport for an onward flight to Cape Town, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or explore the city (unescorted).

DAY 8 TUES - MOSSEL BAY » OUDTSHOORN [BD]Continue to Oudtshoorn. Visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour.Enjoy a wine tasting at a local wine estate, then tour Cango Caves.

DAY 9 WED - OUDTSHOORN » KNYSNA [BL]Travel over the Outeniqua Pass to George and continue via Wilderness to Knysna. Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, and a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 10 THURS - KNYSNA [B]Visit the Garden of Eden, set in the lush, indigenous Knysna forest, and Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary. Continue to the famous Eastern Head with spectacular views of the Knysna Heads (weather permitting) and finally to Brenton on Sea, with its unspoilt beaches and peaceful surroundings. Rest of day at leisure.

DAY 1 THURS - CAPE TOWN » OUDTSHOORN [D] Depart Cape Town and travel through the ‛Little Karoo’ and Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. En route, stop off in the town of Barrydale, for an opportunity to visit a local farm school to interact with the children and teachers in the classroom, learning more about the local farming community (subject to the school being open). We then continue to Oudtshoorn, the centre of the world’s ostrich farming industry. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.

DAY 2 FRI - OUDTSHOORN » KNYSNA [BL]After breakfast, we tour the limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by the elements through the ages. We’ll visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and light lunch, before continuing our journey over the scenic Outeniqua Pass to George, and then onto Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa and the heart of the Garden Route. Overnight in Knysna.

DAY 3 SAT - KNYSNA [BL]This morning we enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where we can take a trailer ride up the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon.

DAY 4 SUN - KNYSNA » ALBERTINIA [BD]We depart Knysna to travel via George and Mossel Bay to Albertinia, a town set against the backdrop of the majestic Langeberg Mountain Range. Enjoy an afternoon open vehicle game drive at a malaria-free private game reserve that is home to an abundance of animal and birdlife, including the Big 5. Overnight in Albertinia.

DAY 5 MON - ALBERTINIA » HERMANUS [BD]Your safari adventure continues with an early morning open vehicle game drive. Your expert guide will endeavour to spoil you with sightings of the Big 5, general game and prolific birdlife before you continue to Swellendam. This charming town was founded in 1745 and is famous for its youngberries, eclectic architecture and nature reserves, as well as outdoor activities. We then head to the seaside resort of Hermanus, which offers the best land-based whale watching in the world (Aug - Nov). Dinner and overnight in Hermanus.

DAY 6 TUES - HERMANUS » CAPE TOWN [B]After a leisurely breakfast, depart Hermanus and travel to Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards, where French Huguenots settled more than 300 years ago, bringing with them their age-old French wine and food culture. Your guide will take you on a tour through Franschhoek village, sharing with you the fascinating history of the French Huguenots. Then finally onto Cape Town, the oldest city in South Africa, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain, where the tour ends on arrival.

DAY 5 WED - LÜDERITZ » NAMIB DESERT [B]After an early breakfast, travel north along the Tiras Mountains to your lodge in the Namib Desert, located near Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon. Relax at the pool, or enjoy the optional activities offered at the lodge. Overnight in the Namib Desert for the next 2 nights.

DAY 6 THURS - NAMIB DESERT [B]Enter the Namib-Naukluft National Park at sunrise to capture the surreal landscapes on camera. Take an optional walk up one of the majestic dunes. Visit the Deadvlei then Sesriem Canyon, a natural phenomenon in the Namib Desert.

DAY 7 FRI - NAMIB DESERT » SWAKOPMUND [B]After breakfast, continue to Solitaire before travelling via the desolate Kuiseb Valley to Walvis Bay. 1. UNDERTAKINGSpringbok Atlas undertakes to provide all services offered subject to the terms and conditions set out herein, which terms and conditions are accepted by the guest.

2. DEFINITIONSSPRINGBOK ATLAS means Springbok Atlas (Pty) Ltd.GUEST means individuals, groups, companies or other legal persons using the services offered by Springbok Atlas and includes the agents of guests.SERVICES means the provision of accommodation and/or transportation and/or meals as offered by Springbok Atlas and accepted by the guest.DEPARTURE means the scheduled date of departure of the Springbok Atlas vehicle.

3. PRICES3.1 Prices are subject to alteration without prior notice. Prices are also subject to adjustment in the event of changes in government imposed taxes, fuel price, airfares, hotel charges, tourism levies and the introduction of national, regional or local taxes or levies of whatever nature.3.2 All prices and rates are quoted in ZA Rand, Namibian $ or U.S.$ unless otherwise explicitly agreed. Payment in the approved foreign currency will be accepted at the rate of exchange applied by the bankers of Springbok Atlas at the time of receipt of payment. Any shortfall resulting from exchange rate fluctuations will be for the account of the guest.

4. PAYMENTTwenty-five percent (25%) of any tour price is due and payable on booking the tour. Final payment is due and payable 30 days before departure. Full payment must accompany bookings made within 30 days of departure. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

5. CHILD POLICYDue to the potential disruption of the tour and other guests we regret that we do not accept reservations for children under the age of 2 years, on any tour type. The minimum age for Long Distance Tours is 8 years old.NAMIBIA: No children under 12 years allowed.

6. CHILDREN DISCOUNTSCHILDREN DISCOUNTS are available for certain tours. However, specific restrictions apply. Please enquire when making reservations.

7. CANCELLATION FEESCancellations shall only be valid if received by Springbok Atlas in writing and the following penalties, calculated as from the date of receipt of notice, shall apply:

AIRLINES8.1 Cancellations and refunds: In the event of cancellation or failure, for any reason whatsoever, to use confirmed space as ticketed, 25% (twenty-five percent) of the applicable airfare will be forfeited. A change of reservation constitutes a cancellation. Extension of ticket validity is not permitted, save for when a guest is hospitalised due to illness or in the event of the death of a member of the guest’s immediate family.8.2 Responsibilities and booking conditions: All airfare reservations are arranged subject to the conditions imposed by the respective airline.

9. ACCOMMODATIONAccommodation is as specified in the itinerary or brochure and is based on 2 people sharing a twin bedded room. The use of specific accommodation is subject to availability. Springbok Atlas reserves the right to make use of alternative accommodation. This will in no way affect the price of the tour. Single accommodation is available at an extra cost on a first come first served basis.

10. MEALSMeals included are as specified in the tour itinerary. Please check the applicable itinerary for details.

11. TRANSPORTATIONTransportation is in air-conditioned touring vehicles, coaches, minibuses or sedan vehicles appropriate to the requirements of the tour. Springbok Atlas therefore reserves the right to use smaller coaches, minibuses or sedan vehicles on its Guided tours should the number of guests participating reduce sufficiently to warrant this.

12. FOREIGN LANGUAGE GUIDED TOURSSOUTH AFRICA12.1 LONG DISTANCE TOURS: On selected departure dates, certain tours will be conducted in both English and German. 13. HEALTH AND VISASAgents and guests are required to ensure that all such requirements are attended to as Springbok Atlas accepts no responsibility in this regard.

14. LUGGAGEOne suitcase and one overnight bag per person allowed. Some tours, including fly-in safaris, permit soft bags only, with 10kg MAX allowed per person. Please enquire when making reservations. Springbok Atlas accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to luggage or personal property from whatsoever cause arising. Guests are advised to take up adequate insurance cover.

15. RIGHT OF ADMISSION RESERVEDSpringbok Atlas shall at its discretion arrange seating of guests, and other conduct rules, and reserves the right at its discretion to decline to accept or retain any person as a guest. Guests shall obey every lawful instruction of any employee of Springbok Atlas.

16. SMOKINGSmoking is not permitted on any guided tour. Regular comfort stops are included en route.

17. CHECK IN TIMEGuests shall check in at all departure points at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Springbok Atlas does not accept responsibility for any guest who fails to comply with this condition.

18. DELAYSSpringbok Atlas shall not be responsible for the consequences of any delays whether arising from accidents, breakdowns, or any other cause.

19. RESPONSIBILITYSpringbok Atlas carries extensive passenger liability insurance, details of which are available on request. Springbok Atlas is not responsible for any damages sustained by any guest as a result of any act or omission whatsoever of any hotel, airline or other person, notwithstanding the fact that Springbok Atlas acted as the agent of such hotel, airline or other person.

20. ALTERATIONSAll tours, charters, hires, itineraries, travel arrangements, hotel accommodation and other arrangements are subject to alterations or cancellations at any time without prior notice and for any reason, at the sole and absolute discretion of Springbok Atlas. Springbok Atlas shall not be responsible for any damages whatsoever arising from any such alteration or cancellation.

21. STANDARD AND SAFETYSpringbok Atlas undertakes that:21.1 Vehicles provided are large enough to accommodate thenumber of guests and luggage as is specified in clause 14.21.2 All drivers are licensed in terms of local legislation.21.3 All vehicles are safe and comply with relevant safety regulations.

22. LAWThe law of the Republic of South Africa, or Namibia (where applicable), shall govern the relationship between Springbok Atlas and the guest, and the Courts of the Republic of South Africa, or Namibia (where applicable), shall have sole jurisdiction in respect of any claims and/or disputes which may arise between Springbok Atlas and the guest or agent.
