Esco Product Guide

Why Esco?

Esco is a manufacturer of laboratory equipment,

designing clean air products for the life science

industry and high tech industrial applications since

1978. Esco has sold more than 80,000 systems

worldwide during the past 45 years; the company has

become a leader in the industry and expanded the

breadth of its product line to include temperature

control devices such as freezers and incubators. The

signature characteristics of this progressive company

are the high value of its systems, its customer service

focus, product quality and a commitment to working

with its customers to develop systems that meet

market needs.

Highest Value

• Superior, quality features set at competitive prices

• Customization available and affordable

• Exceptional combination of pricing and features

• Provides customers the greatest value on their

investment

• Best value of systems in their class

The full line of laboratory equipment offers not

only the best quality but also the widest, most

customizable range of characteristics and capabilities,

with competitive pricing. All products deliver cost-

effective equipment of the highest value on the

market. The clean air and thermostatic systems

contain features that have been designed as a

result of the feedback received from our customers

and researchers. The feature set on our equipment

compares favorably to the competitors’ more

expensive equipment, resulting in high value for the

investment. Esco can also add features and custom

design systems at costs not achievable by other

equipment companies. Having systems of high quality,

with more features, at competitive prices, makes our

products, and our customers, stand apart from the

rest.

Superior Customer Experience

• Customer-or iented cu l ture : informed and

informative, helpful and willing to go beyond

expectations

• Stable, mid-sized company able to listen to and act

on customer needs in addition to market demands

• Built upon the commitment to a superior customer

experience

Our goal is to exceed the needs and expectations of

our customers. Delighting our customers is not just

the focus of the organization but is also within the

spirit of the company. As a family owned business

of moderate size we can, and do, take the time

to listen to our customers, offering unparalleled

personal service and attention that is not possible

with larger companies. For example, we are able to

be flexible and offer modifications to customize our

systems, wherever possible, to suit a specific customer

requirement. When filling an order, we can ship

systems in half the amount of time that it takes other

companies in the same market space.

Page 7: Guide to Esco Products and Servicesescolifesciences.us/products/download/USProductGuide.pdf · 2014-11-18 · Isoclean® - new compounding 2008 pharmacy isolators Frontier Acela®

7

This quick turnaround is because we build and

distribute systems globally with the intention of being

able to ship systems quickly. Our customers applaud

us for our expertise in consultation, for consistently

going above and beyond, and for communicating

proactively. With our ability to rapidly respond to our

customers, we offer an experience unlike the rest.

Product Design and Development

Esco is both customer-driven and market-driven in our

product design and development.

• We incorporate scientists’ needs and feedback into

the design of our systems;

• We are dedicated to researching market needs and

meeting those needs by implementing continuous

improvements in our products;

• We are designed to be a nimble system manufacturer,

focused on quickly incorporating requested features.

Esco is an expert in isothermic instrumentation, with

large credit due to feedback of our customers. The

company is progressive in its production philosophy,

designing systems by following these three steps:

1) Asking the market for input;

2) Listening;

3) Designing systems with that feedback in mind.

While some companies stand still, Esco is dedicated to

innovation, improvement and moving forward. While

many other companies assemble parts from third party

providers, we manufacture our systems from beginning

to finish, further enabling our ability to rapidly

respond to changing market needs. As a result, we

have an expanding range of systems that is constantly

improving. If you need a feature or capability, let us

know. There is a great chance that Esco will say, “Yes.”

Proven Quality

• 45 years of experience producing high quality,

reliable and time-tested laboratory equipment

• Quality, support, value and reliability: key attributes

of our laboratory equipment.

• Esco has been operating in the U.S. for more than 10

years

Esco has sold more than 80,000 systems in over 100

countries making Esco a proven, market-leading

provider of clean air and isothermic laboratory

equipment. Our knowledge in clean air technology

is reflected in the expertly designed, reliable and

highly effective biosafety and laminar flow products.

The products protect both laboratory personnel

and precious research samples. Customers use our

systems with confidence; our products come with

unparalleled multi-year warranties and our personnel

are professional and knowledgeable, consistently

providing technical solutions for scientific challenges.

Perfect Pitch Profile

Ergonomics, safety and aesthetics all come together with the 5o pitch of the face.

Acela® Shaping Vanes

Increase airflow “sweep” at the critical area at the

side walls to improve containment, especially when laboratory traffic

disrupts airflow in front of the hood.

High Sight Line

High sight line of 1803 mm (71.0”) coupled with an

automatic lowering function combines safety and convenience.

Chain and Sprocket Sash Support System

Large arbor sprockets and chain drive make sash

Standards Compliance

Chemical Fume Containment Electrical Safety

ANSI/AShRAE 110-1995, USA EN 14175, Europe

CAN/CSA-22.2, No.61010-1 EN-61010-1, Europe

IEC-61010-1, Worldwide

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling is employed in the devel-opment of Esco clean air and contain-ment devices. Laminar TopographyTM on Frontier Acela® Fume Hoods was developed with computational fluid dynamics modelling in the Esco Re-search and Development Center. The main thrusts of the project were im-proved airflow uniformity, enhanced safety, reduction in noise levels, and energy consumption.

First, engineering teams conceptual-ized possible designs, and, instead of building physical models, utilized CFD to simulate airflow patterns, pressur-izations and visualize possible areas of turbulence. This allowed a large number of iterations of the airfoil, sash handle, baffle, bypass and exhaust collar to be evaluated. Finally, physical prototypes were constructed, tested, and the best design combina-tion selected for produc-tion.

CFD has allowed us to effectively reduce the vortex in conventional fume hood designs to the minimum, resulting in a safe yet energy-saving fume hood design.

Functionally Robust Bypass

The unique design provides a robust stream of bypass air into the hood cavity.

Hot Zone Baffles

The unique Hot Zone Baffles draw most contaminants back in single pass displacement of the air. Thermal Heat Relief is quickly achieved.
