The French Riviera is, no doubt, one of the most attractive andnotorious coasts all over Europe and the nice Nice its own jet set!

Though summer is a nice period to enjoy a sojourn, it is betternot to go to Nice in July or August to avoid hot weather, trafficjams and crowds of people on holiday! Better periods are spring

and early autumn, though february is a favorite too: it is carnivaltime!

The many museums, beaches and facilities offer tourists a widerange of choices!

The old town with its many tiny streets, is truly lively and manyare the restaurants all around where to enjoy a good meal!

The true local atmosphere is in Vieille Ville, the Old Town, at the

foot of "the Rock" and which spreads out from Place Massena.

Among the museums to be visited are:The fantastic Museum of Fine Arts, an artwork in itself,showing some Monets, Renoirs,Bonnards and many others;

Museum of Modern and ContemporaryArt

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art wasinaugurated in 1990 and has many projects which are ondisplay. This is an impressive building situated nearAcropolis Convention Center. Some of the features ofthe art works include works of Andy Warhol, Niki deSaint-Phalle and Jean Tinguely. Through the terrace ofthe museum, a visitor can get a wonderful view of the city.

Promenade des Anglais

The name Promenade des Anglais was given to thislong pathway after an Englishman, Lewis Way, decidedhe would create a path along the seafront.

The walkway runs for about two kilometres and is alwaysteaming with tourists and locals.

The area is a popular attraction in Nice with walkers andcyclists as it offers an unobstructed view of the sea.

The blue chairs dotted along the promenade give it acharacteristic look of a vantage position and the ceruleanblue extends as far as the eye can see. It is anexhilarating sight like the other beaches in Nice.

One can bask in the sun, walk, run or cycle with a calmbreeze blowing in from the sea and an air of serenitycovers the whole scene.

Old Town

A visit to the Old Town is one of the main things to do inNice.

A guided walking tour can be taken of Old Nice. The tourtakes one to the Albert Premier gardens at the PalaceMassena, then, into the Cours Saleya market, past theOpera house and also explores the narrow pedestrianisedstreets of the old town.

The Old Town boasts many palaces and venues ofhistorical interests. The old market is famous for its freshflowers and antiques sold at the weekends.
