In order to support educators whilst working remotely NHS Education forScotland (NES) has produced guidance on transferring face-to-face training toan online environment The guide includes

evidence on the efficacy of remote trainingplanning considerationsinformation on creating eLearning

information on collaboration toolsinformation on hosting webinarsonline trainingcase studies

The guide can be found on the Guidance for Educators site on TURAS Learn Itis publicly accessible but you can still create a TURAS Learn account in orderto access additional features and content in other sections

NHS Education for Scotland GPN Listening Service

The NHS Education for Scotland General Practice Nursing team are nowoffering a Peer to Peer Compassionate Listening Service This confidentialservice is specifically GP Nurses providing listening support to their fellow GPNurse colleagues on personal or professional concerns This service is notCOVID-19 specific but has been initiated as a response to the feelings of GPNsduring the current pandemic

If you would like to book a 20-minute session with one of the listeners pleasecontact medicalpracticenursesnesscotnhsuk who will find an appropriatebooking for you

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder during and after lockdown

The Royal College of General Practitioners have developed this extendedscreencast focusing on the period of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic

and the potential effects on patients and key workers during and after thisperiod It looks at recognising signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorderscreening in primary care and how GPs can look after themselves during thischallenging time

New homepage for TURAS Learn

The Turas Learn homepage has been redesigned The NHS Education forScotland User Experience team worked with Learn users to create a freshsimpler design A new My Learn section makes it easier to manage youronline learning The homepage also emphasises recommended learning basedon your organisation or professional group

Health Literacy Webinars for NHSScotland Dietitians

Now more than ever it is important that dietitians ensure that the informationthey are giving patients is understood When conversations are being heldvirtually or via telephone how do we ensure that information is effectivelycommunicated NHS Education for Scotland Knowledge Services Team arehosting a webinar for dietitians to discuss how health literacy good practice canbe applied to patient communication

The webinar will last for approximately one hour and include

Welcome and introductionsRecap on health literacy tools and techniques and demo of HealthLiteracy PlaceOpen discussion on how we can all contribute to making ourorganisations more health literacy friendly with a focus on remote patientconsultations including letters
