• Showgrounds (two shows): Spring show was held at Four Bar B Ranch, Franklin, NJ. Quote from minutes, “There will be a restriction on water for horse washing, Suggested brining your horses already bathed and bring along extra water for spot washing.:The fall Paint-O-Rama was held at the Gloucester County Fairgrounds, Mullica Hill.

• Day fee: A Day Fee of 25% lower than if all Youth classes were entered, • Futurities: $700 will be added by GSPHC.

1982

• Ring Stewart: Terry Lewis was paid $75/day plus his motel. • Ribbons: Barbara Mantini suggested we give 25 cents back for each ribbon

returned in good condition after the show. (Ribbons were passed out at the gate.)

• NJ Horse Expo – Great Adventure: Versatility Contest (western pleasure, English pleasure, jumping, driving, reining, barrels, command). Lyn Williams and Allison Quirk represented GSPHC.

won this for the second time and therefore are not eligible to compete again • September GSPHC meeting: also attending – Baby Rachael Schaeffer • Zone 7 Show Loan: the $500 GSPHC loaned to Zone 7 was repaid • Futurities: 30 weanlings entered – $3,503 paid out in total futurity with

2007

• The “Gelding Plus” APHA program began. • Meetings averaged 16 members/meeting. • The Awards Committee Chairperson was Judy Moyer. • There were 7 GSPHC Youth Club members who attended the Leadership

Conference in Kentucky. • The Green Horse/Green Rider monies were donated to the Donohues who

lost their barn and several horses in a fire. • The Club received $2,360 in NJ Bred monies. • Naylyn Hetzell represented GSPHC at the EAB Equestrian Contest.

• Melissa Hetzel was elected GSPHC Vice-President. • We received $6,845 in NJ Bred money • Futurity classes (with the exception of the Weanling Futurities) were

replaced with Sweepstakes classes. • Nalyn Hetzell was First Runner Up in the EAB Equestrian Contest • The “Jersey Joggins” newsletter was discontinued and replaced with an e-

mail “Blast” • Foal Futurities were split into “Early” and “Late” foals • Horse Show profits: April - $4,540 and July - $4,940 • The first GSPHC horse show was held at the Dream Park • The Christmas Meeting was preceded by a Holiday Covered Dish Dinner at

the home of Milton and Dorothy Quirk 2009

• The Awards Banquet was held at Scotland Run Golf Club • The GSPHC Youth Club (Cyndy Hetzell) held a Youth/Amateur Show at the

Cumberland County Fairgrounds. • GSPHC provided two free bags of shavings at their Dream Park shows • Heather Mounts was added to the office staff at the shows • Mary Kensler was appointed Treasurer to fill the position of John Moser,

who passed away. • The September show realized a profit of $5,213 • There were 103 reservations for the Awards Dinner. • Gabby Buono represented GSPHC at the EAB Equestrian of the Year event. • Toby O’Bryan was hired as announcer for the September show. • The Green Horse/Green Rider proceeds of $500 were designated for Jack

and Julie Bishop to aid with their medical bills. 2010

• Two bags of free shavings at the shows was discontinued. • Raffle tickets for a BBQ Meat Raffle were sold. • Show profit from the April show was $9,600. • Show profit from the July show was $5,970. • Ken Ware represented GSPHC at the APHA Convention as an APHA Director. • Jersey Bred classes were held at the September GSPHC Show. • The September show realized a profit of $6,881.

• There were 11 Jersey Bred horses shown at the September show. • The Benefit classes raised $800 for the Cumberland County SPCA.

2011 • A fundraising Poker Tournament was held at the Salem County Sportsman’s

Club. • It was noted that GSPHC was incorporated in 1973 and was the 43rd Paint

Horse Club in the nation. • GSPHC shows had a start time of 7:00 AM. • Free chicken dinners were available (one/stall) with additional dinners

available for $6.00 Saturday night of the April show. • Judy Moyer held the first “Scribing Clinic”. • The April 2011 GSPHC Show was rated the 14th highest APHA show in the

nation in number of entries. • The April show was held on Easter Sunday and the Youth Club sponsored an

Easter Egg Hunt. • There were 116 in attendance at the Awards Dinner.

2012

• Our second Casino night was held as a fundraiser. The Club realized a profit of $1,233 and $500 was donated to Muscular Dystrophy.

• All shows began at 7:00 AM. • An “Open/Paint” Incentive horse show was held at the Salem County

Fairgrounds. Each “new” Paint exhibitor receivde a free GSPHC year’s membership and a coupon for one free class at a GSPHC show.

• The Charity Classes raised $500 for the Kidney Foundation. 2013

• A free chicken dinner was ordered for each stall rented at the April Show. • This year is the “40th Anniversary” of GSPHC. A “40th Anniversary” logo was

developed. “40th Anniversary” hand towels were given each exhibitor when they entered the April show. There were gifts for horse show guests who were GSPHC members 40 years ago. Also, a “Retro” class was held for exhibitors who dressed as riders did 40 years ago.

• A Casino Night was held at the Dream Park following the April show. • The Youth Club Clinic had 40 riders, realizing a profit for the Youth Club of

$1,800. • GSPHC received $750 in APHA store certificates for being a Gold Star club. • The shows realized a profit of – April $3,058, July $1,438. The Dream Park

costs ran from $11,000 to $14,500/show. • Show high points are now being tabulated by computer. • GSPHC was again awarded the APHA Club of Distinction award. • The total amount spent in 2013 was $85,945. The club realized a total

profit of $2,594. 2014

• Cyndy Hetzell was elected GSPHC Vice-President. • There were 12 Jersey Bred horses shown. • A third “Benefit” class was held. There are now: Rider Walk-Trot, Western

Horse Walk-Trot, and English Horse Walk-Trot. • A “Games Division” was added. • Membership fees were raised $5.00. • All shows began at 8:00 AM. • The GSPHC Youth Show was held on the Friday before the GSPHC April

show. • A profit of $1,073 was realized on the July show.. • The September Show realized a profit of $2,148. • The “Green Horse/Green Rider” classes raised $700 for charity. • Election of officers voting will take place via e-mail or USPS if no e-mail

account is available. 2015

• Ranch Horse Pleasure was added to the show schedule. • The September show was double-pointed for GSPHC end of year awards. • The winner of the first GSPHC Scholarship check was Callie Jo Ware. • There were 6 GSPHC Youth Club members who attended the Youth

Conference in Fort Worth. • APHA “CHAMPS” classes were added to the show schedule. • GSPHC won first place in the “Gist Affiliate Awards” program and was

awarded a $2,500 gift certificate from Gist. • An online stall reservation form was added to the GSPHC website. • GSPHC was listed as an APHA Club of Distinction – Honorable Mention.

• The Youth Club realized a profit of $500 on their Youth Show. • Futurities were cancelled due to lack on entries. • September Show Profit - $5,628 • There were 19 Jersey Bred horses nominated.

2016

• GSPHC received a $1,000 check from APHA for being the recipient of the GSPHC Regional Club Sponsorship Funding for our creative way of encouraging new member participation in our shows.

• July Show profit - $2,900. • September Profit - $3,004 • Benefit classes raised $500 for ALS. • Mike Short (from APHA) attended our Awards Banquet.
