Tom Carroll has to be close to everyone’s favourite World Champ. He is probably the fittest World Champ still! Over the years, he has become a leader in the sport. He started stand up paddling in 2004 after Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama introduced him to the sport in Maui. A few years later in 2007, Tom met Blaine Chambers, owner of Paddle Surf Hawaii. The two connected im-mediately and Tom often challenged Blaine on his designs. They started surfing and working together on new designs, and the bond was instant.

Recently, Tom has been working with Blaine on his own line of standup boards: Tom Carroll Paddle Surf. Toms SUP range, sold exclusively through Global Surf Industries, consists of two models: the Loose Leaf and the Long Grain. The Loose Leaf, available in 4 sizes, offers shorter models geared more for high performance SUPping while the Long Grain is designed for more longboard style of SUPping.

When asked about the range Tom said: “In a sense it feels like 45 years of my surfing experience is being honed into this new proj-ect. Creating a board that feels really nice under my feet, works really well in the surf and hopefully can bring other people joy is an amazing feeling.”
