Description The Adult Learner Program provides support and resources for students who meet one or more of the following criteria:
• are 25 years or older • are between 20 and 24 years old with fewer than 30 hours completed • have been out of high school for 5 or more years.
Whether you are beginning your college career or returning after a break, the Adult Learner Program can offer support through advisement, mentoring, workshops, and even by awarding college credit for work experience.

Description At the Gordon State College bookstore, you’ll not only find textbooks, but study aids, backpacks, clothing, gift items, and more. The Bookstore’s normal hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Helpful Tips Keep your receipt! You may return certain items only if you have the original receipt.
Check out the Bookstore’s refund policy online. Bring your college ID. This is important when participating in Book Buy-Back and other

as raffles for gift cards and electronics.

Description Tuition and fees are a stressful part of everyone’s academic experience—the Business Office will make this process as simple as possible.
When to Go Head to the Business Office when you have questions about the following:
New GSC IDs ($10 fee after your first card) Payment information and deadlines Tuition Electronic refunds and refund checks Payment Plans Lease releases for the Gordon Commons or Village
Helpful Hints Pay online. The business office will accept checks and money orders in person, or you can
pay tuition and fees online with a credit card or check—learn how. Know your payment deadlines. Your schedule will be dropped if you do not pay on time.

Be proactive. Often, financial institutions will deny credit cards when they are used for large purchases due to security concerns. Call your bank before you pay for fees and books so that this doesn’t happen to you.
Be sure Gordon has your current mailing address. This is so that important mail (refund checks, for example) are sure to get to you—learn how to check if your address is current here.
Do not assume financial aid has covered all your fees. In Banner Web, view Check Registration to see if you owe money out of pocket.

Description Computer Services provides information technology services and support to students on campus. There are computer labs for student use in 7 locations across campus, complete with free access to Microsoft and Adobe software. As you might guess, the Computer Services website is full of useful information about technology. You can find links to useful information in the More Information section below.

Campus Printer Issues Technology issues with solutions not listed on the Computer Services website
Helpful Tips Check your email from home, campus, or on your smart phone. The Computer Services
webpage has more information. Know your GSC username. It is printed on the back of your GSC ID below the magnetic
strip. Know how to reset your password. Gordon State Passwords can be reset anywhere with
internet access at this webpage. If you are on campus, you may reset your password in the Student Success Center.
Don’t share your password and always log off of computer when finished working in a campus computer lab. Security is important!
Free wifi is available in all campus buildings. When you join the Gordon wireless network, log on with your username and password.
Printing money can be refunded if a printer jams. Visit the department for more information, but keep in mind that printing money does not roll over from semester to semester.
Take advantage of your student folder. Each student is allowed a network folder to keep assignments and other academic files. You can access this from any computer. Visit the CS website for more information.

Description The Counseling Center’s goal is to provide short-term counseling, covering areas such as decision-making, personal issues, adjustment, and problem solving—and it’s free for all Gordon State College students. Although the center is best used for short-term counseling, they will refer you to off campus resources if needed. The Counseling Center also managed accessibility applications for classroom aid or testing accommodations.

Helpful Hints Bring your GSC ID. This is how you will check out books. Use your course’s reserved textbooks. Often, course textbooks are placed on reserve
behind the front desk for you to use in the library. Create a GIL pin. This will allow you to login and renew books, see what you have checked
out, access the GALILEO password, and more. To access GALILEO off campus, you will need the password. This changes every semester

Description Residence life provides a complete college experience for Gordon Students who live on campus. Helpful Hints Tutoring is walk-in! No need to make an appointment—just tell whoever is behind the front
desk that you would like a tutoring session and you will be directed from there. Come in early. As soon as you realize that you would benefit from support from the Student
Success Center, come in! Don’t wait until it is too late. Bring your course materials. The Student Success Center can better help you if you have your
textbooks, syllabi, assignments sheets, and notes readily available. Tutors and SI Leaders will help you grow academically so that you can foster long-lasting
academic success. This is much more important than receiving homework answers or paying for a proofreading service.

Helpful Tips Have your ID. No test can be given without a picture ID, whether your GSC ID or driver’s
license. Don’t forget to bring it. Be prepared to put your belongings in a locker. The Testing Center provides lockers for
your belongings, which will not be allowed in the testing rooms. Don’t worry—you will keep the key while you are testing to ensure that your belongings are safe.
