These versatile dancers have performed on tours throughout the United States specializing in tango and milonga and the folkloric dances of Latin America. In 1988 they participated in a four-month tour of Spain with the “Tango Revue” of Argentina, under the musical direction of Armando Calo. Since 1988, they have toured with the New Xavier Cugat Orchestra and, in October 1990, 1992, and 1994, toured Japan with that company. In the New York tri-state area, they have performed at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Mohonk Performing Arts Festival, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival, Midsummer Night Swing, with the NJ Pops Orchestra and numerous museums and Latin American festivals. Laura and Pedro teach privately in New York. As choreographers they collaborated with the multi-media production of “Carlos Gardel Retro Nuevo”, which premiered June 15, 1991, at the Montreal Spectrum Theatre. In the summers of 1990 through 1994, Pedro artistically directed and choreographed the production of “Tango & Folklore Argentino” at the Thalia Spanish Theatre. They present different dance styles of Argentina. In 1990, they formed the dance company Ballet Los Pampas, dedicated to keeping alive the popular culture of Argentina and Latin America.

The Monthly Aspectarian dedicated to awakening consciousness Music by PJ Birosik Greg Ribot & Cumbia del Norte THE INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY (Cathexis Records 888-635-6392) Want some fun music for your next patio party? Try cumbia! Originating on the Atlantic Coast of Colombia, this musical style has roots that dig deep into the fertile, creative soil of West African, Spanish and indigenous traditions. Over time, it has grown and flowered into a happy, dance-y sound that flaunts its mambo heritage proudly like a flounced skirt. On THE INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY, Ribot and company "conspire" to make music that tickles the ear with its supremely funky sound and a wide variety of multi-cultural colors expressed through a tasty hybrid of folkloric (siku, quena, charango) and contemporary (clarinet, trumpet, vibes) instruments. By mixing catchy, quirky melodies drawn from Andean, Argentine, Caribbean and Brazilian styles with popular cumbia rhythms, the boys in the band issue an irresistible invitation to celebrate whatever, whenever! These irresistible tunes are guaranteed to set feet to tapping for a long time to come.
