Growth and development
Early childhood 1-3 years
Children learn to walk and talk.
They learn to climb, pull and push and how to control removal wastes of the body.
They feel proud of achievements which make them more eager to do things for themselves.
Childhood3-5 years
Children begin to play on their own rather than with other children. They enjoy make-believe and often like to copy adults.
They begin to ask so many questions. Parents may approve some of these new abilities and encourage the question, thus, the child learns to be creative.
LATE CHILDHOOD 6-7
YEARS
Children develop new skills and spend a good deal of time making things. Some make airplanes, good poetry, play instruments, etc.
If the child’s creativity are appreciated and rewarded, pride in his work increases, unlike who are scolded or punished for creating a creative mess.

The second fastest period of growth.
Girls often show physical changes of adolescence earlier than boys.

In their 20’s, most people strongly feel the need to share their lives with another person.
The twenties is the time when most people begin a career.

Advancing in their jobs is their key goal. They gain satisfaction from helping the younger generation, which adds to their feelings of self worth. Raising one’s own children is a common way.

People in their mid sixities and beyond look forward to retirement.
They usually look back at memories for it gives them the feeling of contentment and peace.

Adolescence is the time where certain traits of adults begin to develop.
Physical growth is shown in the change of size and weight of the body. Boys grow faster at the age of 11 and girls, at the age of 9 until 15 years old.
Growing up physically means attaining full physical growth. One must learn to accept his or her gender and make the most out of his or her physical appearance.

As children, the urge to respond is used to distinguish feelings, like throwing tantrums. As teens, you reason out and avoid hurting others by not showing emotions.

Achievement- success makes you gain recognition which boosts your personal worth.

One’s friends and their views become more important than ever.
One begins to search for the answer, ‘’Who Am I’’. This search for oneself is one of the many developmental tasks that one takes in adolescence.
