Regularly there are questions about the "effects"
of all these media on children.
Is it good for them?
Is it bad for them?
Will passive TV viewing cause permanent changes
in brain functioning?
Discussion/Insights

There are no simple answers to these
questions. However, it is also evident that
growing numbers of incidents involving the use
of media technology has been observed.
Discussion/Insights
![Page 18: “Growing Up in the Media World: A Case Study”](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022081512/56815c8c550346895dca9c46/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
In discussing this topic, much more is
involved than lamenting the "effects" of too
much television or computer use. We adults
often think we know more than the
children who are smaller and younger and
thus "less experienced."
Discussion/Insights
![Page 19: “Growing Up in the Media World: A Case Study”](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022081512/56815c8c550346895dca9c46/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
But now children can be much updated
to what is the latest buzz around
than what we know. What we must
do is to be aware of the
pros and cons that technology can offer
to us and it is now our
responsibility to do the filtering.
Discussion/Insights

We must choose not just because we
liked the idea but we must also
base it on our moral, social, cultural
and even spiritual obligation.
Discussion/Insights

influential people around the world.

Therefore aside from our leaders, we should
be the one to make moves to
continue, preserve and ensure that our race
will not be somewhat like that of
the history of dinosaurs where you can
only find and read them through the books.

Truly this is a big challenge to face
but if others are not accepting it,
We should be!
