Purpose of the DCPS Early College Teacher Academy

• To create a sustainable pipeline of educators who will help to fill teacher vacancies throughout the school district.

• Work collaboratively with post-secondary institutions to ensure incoming teacher workforce is adequately prepared to be successful within our classrooms.

• To engage community partners to allow for practical experience in working with students at all K-12 levels.

• To expand the highly successful Early College Model to meet additional workforce demands in Duval County.

• Allow for expansion of Acceleration Program offerings at Westside High School and First Coast High School.
