From Father Michael Van Lian, Burmese Community: “We know that all things work for good for those who love

God, who are called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28 God does not will or cause lots of things that happen in this world. This is a free and sinful world. But in the lives of those who love God, he can take even the worst tragedy and bend it to some good purpose. No matter how sad our past has been, no matter how many battles we may have lost, God and we will win in the end. Dear friends in Christ, despite all the hardship and distress, persecution and injustices any one of us face, God has not abandoned us. God can take what is ugly in your life and make it beautiful. Just give to God what is painful in your life and He will transform it into something incredible. The worst thing is never the last thing. God will turn your trouble into triumph. Today, give to God what is ugly in your life. Just hand it over to Him. And He will do something beauti-ful with it. Even if we do not pray as we ought, the Spirit and Christ are interceding for us, and it is possible still to see God working for good and God is at work in everything. Amen.

St. Patrick, pray for us!

We are so grateful to Father Bruce Ansems for offering

sacramental assistance to our parish.

St. Patrick Parish is his home parish, and we’re very blessed to have him with us!

Solo en-trégalo a Él.

New Prolife Video

Featuring Dustin Colquitt (Chiefs!) We encourage you to watch the new pro-life video that was produced by Live Action (a leading na-tional pro-life and human rights organization) and features Dustin Colquitt, the Kansas City Chiefs former punter and member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Leawood. In the video, Dustin shares his love for this community but expresses his fear about what is happening in our state with the KS Supreme Court “discovering” a right to abortion in our constitution. This is a powerful vid-eo that both educates on the likely effects of the Court’s decision but also inspires Kansans to be a voice for the voiceless. Watch the video at https://youtu.be/mJ1XtrlShPQ. We are excited to have this resource with such a prominent and beloved Chiefs player and hope this video will go viral in our state and beyond. Support the Value Them Both Kansas Constitutional Amendment. To learn more, visit https://www.archkck.org/prolife-ks-constitutional-amendment.

St. Patrick’s extends a warm welcome to Abby Drath (above), the new Church Office Administrative Assistant. Abby is a former Spanish teacher, with degrees in education and theology

from Benedictine College. She has organized and created both educational and ministry programs and believes all people should experience Christ as they work with parish staff. She is a member of

Holy Trinity Parish in Lenexa. Please stop by and say hello to Abby.

The Church office staff expresses sincere gratitude to Debbie Losensky (below) as she leaves her office position. Debbie will continue to help St. Patrick’s as a volunteer. We also thank Wilma Plake for her many contributions as she also retires from St. Patrick’s. Both Debbie and Wilma will be deeply missed. They both

leave behind a better parish office for their years of service and they leave behind better co-workers for having worked with the good, caring people they are.
