SPOTLIGHT ON BUSINESS

Auto Collision and Glass opens new facility

Chamber President Darlene Murphy reflects on past year

After an automobile accident, the headaches that come with towing, damage repair, insur-ance negotiations and other problems can be as exhausting as the ac-cident itself. Located at 2401 Stringtown Road, Auto Collision and Glass is a one-stop, full line col-lision center that gets rid of these headaches due to accidents, theft and other auto related issues. According to General Manager Alex Dashkovs-ki, Auto Collision and Glass can help eliminate 90% of problems related to collision.

“We noticed the lack of collision centers in Grove City and saw the space to build, so we took the opportunity,” said Dashkovski.

The new Auto Colli-sion and Glass, which opened in March of this year, is a state-of-the-art facility. They offer 24-hour towing for customers at no charge, give lifetime warranties, arrange rental cars and give mobile estimates for free. Their repair services

range from scratches on cars, to heavy repair, and everything in between. They negotiate directly with insurance agencies so that customers don’t have to.

This new facility is also environmentally-friendly. Workers use a water based paint system and recycle all damaged and used parts.

The fantastic staff at Auto Collision and Glass is thorough and detailed and will make sure the cars are fixed the first time.

“We look for extra damage that insurance companies might not catch to ensure that the car is safe to drive and fixed right,” said Dash-kovski.

With the ease of the one-stop shop, almost all of their business comes from satisfied, repeat customers. Their hours are Monday through Fri-day 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact Auto Col-lision and Glass at (614) 871-7777.

In looking back over this past year as the Grove City Area Chamber of Com-merce President, I have come to realize that Grove City is a great place to live and do business.

In contrast to the national economy, we have been a fortunate community, with a diverse economic base com-bined with our greatest attribute — great people, which allows our com-munity to enjoy a great reputation for raising a family.

It’s been a year of steady progress for the Chamber. For me, key highlights in 2012 include not only growing our membership and keeping our member retention at 89%, but stay-ing actively engaged in the legislative process. This advocacy ensures that the voice of business is heard and that local policies are adopted which enable businesses to thrive and grow in our community. I am also proud to announce the establishment of a 501(c)(3). Grove City Chamber Foundation. The foundation allows us to expand our abilities to pro-vide educational opportunities not only to South-Western Schools, but other schools in the Grove City community, our members and adults continuing their education.

The busy schedule of the Chamber’s past year included hosting two new member breakfasts, 32 ribbon cuttings, 28 networking events, and added 80 new members to the Chamber. Five South-West-ern City School students received Chamber schol-arships, and our Southwest Leadership Program excelled with 16 graduates. Our Microsoft Word and Excel classes were significant to our businesses and

the community to sharpen current skills, or add skills to make possible employment opportunities.

Some of the other highlights include, Taste of Grove City & Business Expo, Golf Outing, 3 on 3 Basketball Tourna-ment, Farmers’ Market and Family Fun Day. Who can forget Arts in the Alley Festival and Parade that experienced great weather and an overflow crowd? The Chamber also partnered with the City in hosting two job fairs. We wrapped up the year with our Annual Chamber Auction raising funds for

scholarships that by all accounts was a success due to the generosity of our members and the Grove City community.

The list goes on for what your Chamber has been involved with this year. However, the Chamber could not have accomplished any of these without the support of the Chamber staff, members and the many volunteers. The Chamber’s success is the result of “progress through people”.

In looking ahead, the Chamber’s best days are in front of us and the board and our members are in good hands. I would also like to offer thanks to the Board of Directors, the Chamber Staff, and other people I have served with in my time as Chamber President. I look forward to continuing to work with and support the Grove City Chamber, our members, and its events and activities.

Thank you,

Darlene Murphy
