Mission Statement

To create a supportive, safe school environment that encourages all students to develop values and behaviors that deepen their understanding of self and community in order to promote academic and personal success.

All Counselors in LMHS believe:

• Student achievement is maximized by participation in a comprehensive school counseling program that is planned, managed, delivered, and evaluated by licensed and professional school counselors.

• A comprehensive school counseling program will include social and self-awareness components to assist with developing values, behaviors, and attitudes that will increase the probability of students’ academic and personal success.

• Students are capable of becoming self-directed, lifelong learners in a supportive, safe school environment thereby becoming equipped to succeed in a diverse community.

The CSCP at LMHS should:• Create holistic student growth, strengthen positive outcomes

for students, and provide a successful pathway for the program.

• Allow students to be more accepting of different cultures and beliefs through intentional and authentic interactions.

All Counselors in LMHS will:

• Be inclusive of all stakeholders, develop an evaluation plan and tools, and schedule for delivering portions of the comprehensive school counseling program.

• Develop lesson plans that are both socially and academically accepted to be delivered with professionalism and without bias.

• Provide preventative and proactive support to the entire school community ensuring students have appropriate opportunities for student development.

• Adhere to the ASCA National Ethical Standards and county-wide ethical standards while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality except in instances of harm to self or others.
