Museum Cancellation Policy : The museum may have delays, cancel classes or be closed in the event of serious weather conditions. Please tune into WFSB-3, WVIT-30 or WTIC-1080 AM for cancellations. Museum programs will generally be cancelled if Manchester schools are closed or have an early release due to weather conditions.

8. FARM LIFE 101Ages 5-10Let’s travel back to the 19th Century, and find out what life was like for children on the farm! We’ll learn about their lives, their pets, and their responsibilities. Then we’ll test our knowledge by doing some “farm life” activities! 9. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE DINOSAUR?Ages 2-3 with caregiverDinosaurs were huge animals that lived here on earth 65 million years ago. We will talk about all the different kinds from the biggest to the smallest, and the carnivores to their less dangerous relatives. 10. TERRIBLE LIZARDSAges 3-5Join us as we take a look at some of the prehistoric animals that were roaming the earth long before humans arrived. We will examine the specific animals that were around during some of the main prehistoric time periods. 11. DINO DNAAges 5-10Just like other living creatures, dinosaurs had DNA that held information about their genetic makeup. The book and movie, “Jurassic Park” describes a zoo made up entirely of dinosaurs that have been brought back to life by using prehistoric DNA. We will discuss whether we think this would be possible and will use several examples of real dinosaurs from specific time periods to help our decision. 3. SUPERIOR SCULPTORS Ages 6-10Come and get your hands dirty with this sculpture class! Handle sculptures and utilitarian objects made from different materials and learn how they were created. Learn how to sculpt modeling clay, salt dough, and polymer clay into your own creative creation. 5. PROTECTING ADAPTATIONSAges 3-5Adaptations allow an animal to protect itself from predators and survive in its environment. Join us each week as we take on a different animal protection technique. We will use both modeling clay and salt dough with the basic technique of pinch pots to create bowls and mini sculptures. 2. CLAY CREATIONSAges 3-5Join us as we use ancient artifacts and foreign sculptures along with modern day clay work to learn how to make pinch pots and coil vessels.
