Hello everyone,
I would like to firstly thank everyone for their continued ef-
forts and support as we strive to become a Market leader in
cleaning, Security and facility services. We are achieving this
through delivering long term value to our customers and em-
ployees.
The last quarter has seen the mobilisation of our first fully
integrated FM contract in Ireland with Henkel. We are also
delighted to have renewed for a further three years the Nike
contract. We were delighted to be involved in the opening of the new Deben-
hams store in Cheshire Oaks and we are very proud to say we have been associ-
ated with Debenhams for the last 13 years. Our USA business has also secured
some major successes with a very large government contract. Our third IKEA
in Miami has also gone live recently with great success. Thank you everyone
involved in Ireland and the UK businesses for their support in the mobilisation.

Two very exciting developments have been introduced to the business in
the last quarter. The first is the Group Scheme. All Grosvenor employees
are now able to avail of significant discounts for a large variety of services
and from major businesses and retailers.
(www.grosvenorservices.groupschemes.com) Please avail of this great ser-
vice as it is for all of us to benefit from.
The second is the introduction of our Employee Assistance Programme,
Managed by a company called Health Assured. Further Information will
be sent to all of you directly over the coming weeks. This Employee assis-
tance programme and occupational health will be a great benefit to every-
one. There will be a range of free services available, if needed, to deal with personal
or professional problems. This programme I believe, demonstrates our commitment
to your health and wellbeing and our goal to become a great place to work.
Another major development for the company is the introduction shortly of our new
company Brand, logo and web site. This will greatly assist and support us in our goal
of providing high standards of service in facility management, Security and Clean-
ing. The work done in this area will greatly improve our company image in the mar-
ket place.
As a Business we aim to grow by over 70% in the next three years. We will achieve
this by concentrating on our Brand, the customers which value service excellence,
our people and becoming a high performing culture, our improved systems and our
support services to our business units.
The last Quarter saw all our entries in the ICCA awards visited and we are looking
forward to the October event. Good luck to all the entries.
The next quarter is an exciting time for the business. I ask everyone to help contrib-
ute to our goals of becoming a be a trusted partner with our client, in providing ex-
ceptional services through our committed people.

... ,
Hello Everyone,
One of the nice things about my new role as HR Director is that obviously it is
all about the PEOPLE.
In the last 12 weeks, I am pleased to have received fantastic support from the
Grosvenor senior leadership team and we have some exciting HR plans to en-
sure we achieve our objective to be a great place to work.
Effectively, we want you and your colleagues to have more of a voice and ensure that you
are fully engaged with our growth plans as a company. We do not need a HR qualification
to know that engaged employees are more productive, more supportive of change and more
motivated to take care of customers and deliver the standards required. It is also clear that
feeling involved and included with the company plans makes all of us feel happier at work,
healthier and keen to stay on and remain loyal to the business.
We are indeed fortunate in Grosvenor that so many people do enjoy working here and have
remained with the company for many years. This is the spirit we want to foster and it is es-
pecially important that we do not lose that spirit as we grow bigger.
You will see that we have a number of initiatives being launched and implemented to sup-
port our aspiration to be a great place to work.
The first initiative is GroupSchemes which provides access to fantastic discounts, offers
and cashback vouchers to deliver value to you and is a meaningful reward and benefit. we
hope that you are already getting familiar with the group scheme.
The second initiative is an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) launching on 01 Octo-
ber. This scheme ensures you will have confidential access to support in the event of any
problems personal or professional, which may affect your workplace performance, your
health and general well-being. Look out for the communication and posters.
In the UK, we are also revitalising our PEP groups and taking the group on the road from
the end of October. Amanda Whyte and her team are working on this. The PEP groups
were part of our Investors in People initiative.
There is also quite a lot of work going on under the Learning and Development banner but
we will talk more about this on another occasion.
Your role as a Grosvenor employee is a vital one because you are part of the team which
makes us a successful business delivering excellence to our valued customers. And it be-
cause of our people that we ultimately create an environment which allows us to say
Grosvenor really is a great place to work!

At Grosvenor, we believe that engaged employees are more productive, more sup-
portive of change and innovation and more motivated to take care of our customers
and deliver the standards required as well as being happier, healthier and keen to
stay .
So in quest of our goal to be a great place to work we recognise that we must re-
ward and retain our best people and encourage those that remain loyal.
We must also support those who experience personal or professional
difficulties and on that basis we are pleased to offer our employees the
following 2 initiatives.
Group Schemes is a great initia-
tive and has just been launched - this offer-
ing provides Grosvenor employees with ac-
cess to the groupschemes website offering
fantastic discounts, offers and cash back
vouchers from a huge range of high street
brands in retail, leisure, entertainment,
sports events, travel etc. group schemes is
available to all employees in UK, IRL and
USA. Group schemes benefit scheme is de-
signed to deliver great value to employees
and to impact employee retention and en-
gagement.

We understand that sometimes it can be difficult to balance the pressures of work with the
needs of home life. We also recognise that help is sometimes needed to deal with the chal-
lenges you may face in life, both practical and emotional.
We understand that sometimes life can be stressful and difficult to deal with, and can often
adversely impact your work performance, health and well-being.
As we believe that health and well being is paramount to a happy, motivated and productive
workforce we have introduced the EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) to offer you sup-
port whenever you need it.
What is an Employee Assistance Programme?
An Employee Assistance Programme is provided to you and your immediate family living
with you, to help you deal with personal and professional problems which could be affecting
your workplace performance, productivity, health and well-being.
A confidential telephone helpline is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and dependent
on the nature of the issue, telephone and face to face counselling can be provided by fully
qualified professionals.
Who do I call?
We have teamed up with Health Assured, one of the leading Employee Assistance Pro-
gramme (EAP) and Occupational Health (OH) providers in the UK.
Health Assured have many years of experience of dealing with EAP’s and all the issues
which surround stress and well-being. They have qualified and experienced counsellors who
will offer help and support in a professional, friendly and non-judgmental manner. A range of
additional support is available as part of your EAP, the service can be accessed simply and
quickly and it is completely confidential to you. To find out more contact us through the de-
tails below.
What can I use this service for?
• Family Issues • Gambling • Domestic Abuse • Debt • Childcare
• Family Matters • Financial • Insurance Claims • Legal • Work
• Drugs & Alcohol • Relationships • Consumer Issues • Stress • Housing
There is a range of assistance being provided from structured telephone counselling, post
trauma support, online personal coaching tools, serious illness and accident support, online
health portal, occupational health referrals to name only some.
Please make that call, rather than allowing your concerns to grow - you can speak with the
same counsellor more than once

Dear Friends,
I recently returned from Nepal after completing my five week physiotherapy place-
ment. It turned out to be one of the most life changing and rewarding experiences of
my life. During my five weeks in the HRDC (Hospital for the Rehabilitation of Dis-
abled Children), I worked with children from all over Nepal and India as a physio-
therapist. I dealt with a huge variety of conditions, many of which we do not see (or
even hear of) here in Ireland. Many of the patients I saw came from a very low so-
cial background and may have travelled days upon days to reach the hospital. Some
of their stories and situations were heart-breaking and I was delighted to be able to
make a difference (however small it may be) to their lives.
The following are a few of the patients who I worked with. The first two had Osteo-
genesis Imperfecta (disease which causes the bones to break easily) and the third is
a bilateral amputee who lost both her legs when a tree fell on her. She unfortunately
lost her mother in the same accident.
During my five weeks I also got the opportunity to work with this little guy Krish-
na.
![Page 7: Grosvenor in the know sept 2014](https://reader031.vdocuments.site/reader031/viewer/2022020400/568c56fa1a28ab4916c8b5d2/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
.
Krishna is a 14 year old street child
from Bouddha in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Unluckily, he was stabbed in the spine
in a case of mistaken identity three
months ago and had lost the ability to
walk or stand on his own. Myself and
my two classmates, Caroline and Ri-
steard, worked with Krishna twice a
day and after our 5 weeks he had re-
gained the ability to walk using a frame
and could move around independently.
This was a huge achievement for Krish-
na and we saw a massive improvement
in his mood by the time he was dis-
charged.
I would like to thank everyone who
contributed to our fundraising efforts
prior to departure, it was an unbelieva-
ble experience and worthwhile in that
we were able to provide children like
Krishna with a level of care they
wouldn't normally receive in Nepal.
Thanks again,
Veronica Horgan

Introducing Eric the bat ..our newest member at Bicester Village.
He was found on the mall all alone and had lost his mum-
my. Nicky radioed through to us as she though Eric was
dead, but low and behold he took a breathe and started to
crawl, she picked him up and brought him back to the
warmth of the porta cabin.
The client called the RSPCA but they couldn't help so he
then tried the bat rescue centre about 20 miles away from
Bicester but hey had no vehicle to pick the poor lost soul up.
Whilst he was making the calls, I put Eric in the inside of
my jacket to keep him warm and safe from the evil preda-
tors, Trace then spoke to the bat rescue centre for advise, we
were told to put him into a shoe box making sure he had
some air vents and a little bit of water.
So then I jumped into the bat mobile (Grosvenor van) and
rushed him to the bat centre, where they are keeping him
warm and feeding him until he is strong enough to be able to
be set free, he will hopefully be coming home in the very near future (when he has
grown up a bit).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank
our Management team in IKEA Manchester for
their support in travelling to Miami, Florida at
short notice to assist in the start-up of the new build contract due to open 3rd Septem-
ber.
Both Lorraine (Site Manager) and Rosie Warren (stand in supervisor) are booked in
for two weeks there to mentor and guide the Grosvenor team and ensure a smooth
introduction for IKEA in the States. This is the third IKEA contract now in Florida
that has seen the benefit of our UK team’s experience. Let’s hope it will not be the
last and we are successful in being awarded further IKEA’s as a result of this rela-
tionship. Next time we will perhaps change the team attending if we are asked again,
others can then top up their tans.
Many of you will know about the tragic road traffic accident involving our co-worker
Rudolfo “Eddie” Ferrer on the M6 near Stafford in late June. Sadly, Rudolfo lost his
wife in this awful tragedy and our hearts go out to him and his family—we are think-
ing of you all. We are pleased to say Rudolfo is making great progress and we wish
him well and a speedy recovery and hope to see him soon.
Grosvenor co-workers in IKEA Thurrock have recently
been trialling the new near miss report form designed by
George Parish. No one has yet reported any Boeing 737’s
landing in Lakeside Thurrock, howev-
er all staff have been warned to wear
their helmets in case they get a sight-
ing. One co-worker stated “ If Quantas comes in that low I can as-
sure you I will not be reaching for my pencil to report that”! On a
serious note, the trialling of the form in Thurrock should not stop
anyone reporting a near miss elsewhere on any contract in the com-
