Exceeding industry standardsIndustry standards are only the basis for our quality-minded approach. To ensure performance and longevity, all components and products are subjected to numerous tests in our three laboratories: Function test laboratory, Material and process technology laboratory and Life-testing laboratory.

Our Life-testing laboratory is located in Lahr, in Germany’s Black Forest – an area known for its exceptionally hard water. It is here, under challenging conditions, that GROHE faucets, showers, thermostats and related components are subjected to endurance tests. These tests simulate 15 years of daily usage and the effects of wear, lime scale and material ageing.

GROHE quality goes beyond product durability. Should a product be discontinued, all spare parts will remain available for 10 years.

World-leading technologiesIn addition to rigorous internal tests, many of our products compete in independent tests, which compare their performance and our technologies against similar products manufactured by our competitors.

In a challenging mechanical endurance test for single lever mixers, conducted by TÜV SÜD, GROHE competed against nine products from other renowned international manufacturers. The result – GROHE Eurodisc was the clear test winner. This success can be attributed to GROHE SilkMove® technology and GROHE faucet cartridges which feature across all our ranges.

Our thermostats also came out on top in tests carried out by LGA QualiTest GmbH, which compared 17 thermostats from leading European manufacturers. In the three classes our Grohtherm 3000, 2000 and 1000 thermostats each achieved 1st place. Thanks to GROHE TurboStat® and GROHE CoolTouch® technologies, our Grohtherm 3000 won best product in the entire test – achieving the top position in four test categories. All GROHE thermostats feature the award-winning GROHE TurboStat® technology – ensuring safety and comfort in the shower, due its fast response to any changes in water pressure.

Award-winning manufacturingThe GROHE plant in Hemer emerged as one of the winners of the “Die beste Fabrik” (“Best Factory”) competition organized by leading business magazine WirtschaftsWoche. Precision engineering has enabled us to simplify the installation process by reducing the complexity and number of parts required to fit a product.

GROHE QuickFix® ensures that our Rapid SL frames are even quicker and simpler to install than before. The inspection shaft now clicks into place – for tool-free installation, while only two screws are required to install the fixing frame. Additionally, the wall brackets are now easier and faster to fit.

GROHE QuickFix® Reduces installation time.

In a practical installation test supervised by REFA-Bundesverband, the Rapid SL system competed against products from five other leading manufacturers and was the quickest to install.

What is a thermostat?A thermostat maintains an exact water temperature of your choosing, even when water is drawn elsewhere in the home.

How does it work?The thermostatic mixer valve mixes the hot and cold water and reacts instantly to any changes in the supplies, ensuring the temperature is maintained.

We’ve all been there before. You’ve just stepped into the shower when someone else in the house either turns on a faucet or flushes the toilet; suddenly the temperature of your shower plummets or becomes scalding hot – leaving you with soap in your eyes as you try to manually adjust the temperature back to a comfortable level. Install a GROHE thermostat and you can be sure of a safe and enjoyable showering experience every time. What’s inside? Thermostatic valves work by constantly mixing hot and cold water to a pre-selected temperature. Even if there is a change in the water supply, the thermostat reacts by rebalancing the quantities of hot and cold water to maintain the correct temperature. In the most extreme case, i.e. should the cold water supply fail, the hot water shuts off automatically to prevent scalding.

Style choices GROHE offers concealed and surface-mounted thermostats. With concealed models, the valve is installed behind the wall for a flush look. With surface-mounted thermostats, only the pipe work is behind the wall.

An innovative cooling channel and special couplings where the hot water enters the thermostat create a barrier between the hot water and the chrome surface, so there’s no risk of scalding yourself on a hot chrome surface – a real plus for families with young children.

GROHE EcoJoy™When it comes to saving water in the shower, every drop counts. Our shower thermostats feature an EcoButton on the handle – allowing the user to choose when to save water. When activated, the button reduces water usage by up to 50% without sacrificing enjoyment – perfect if you just want to stand under the shower and relax for a few minutes before washing.

GROHE TurboStat® technology also contributes to water saving – e.g. should there be a drop in the water pressure during your shower, the fast reaction time of GROHE TurboStat® means that the thermostat re-adjusts the temperature for you – so you don’t have waste time (or water) manually adjusting the shower control.

Switching from head shower to side shower is effortless with the award-winning Freehander. The ingenious design enables you to alternate between the two positions with one simple movement. Featuring GROHE DreamSpray® technology, the two showerheads offer a choice of two spray patterns: Normal and Massage. To save water, an ‘Eco’ function allows you to reduce the water flow from each of the showerheads, while the ‘Stop’ function allows you to use just one of the outlets.

To ensure an enjoyable and exhilarating experience all models benefit from our revolutionary GROHE DreamSpray® technology.

Aquatower 3000 features a head shower, hand shower and four body sprays, while the 2000 and 1000 models feature a hand shower and either two or three body sprays. All models include a thermostat with GROHE TurboStat® technology for a safe and comfortable shower and can be wall- or corner-mounted.

Simple installation Whether you are planning a new project or modernising your existing bathroom, our Rapid SL frame system ensures hassle-free bathroom installation. Frames can either be built into stud walls or placed in front of a brick or stud wall – so there‘s no need to spend time and money hacking off old tiling. The frame is simply secured in place during the construction or refurbishment of your bathroom and concealed behind a wall.

Design and technology As with all our products, Rapid SL offers a host of other benefits. Our concealed cisterns are unbelievably quiet, and this is enhanced when the cistern is fixed to an installation frame rather than the wall. They can be fitted with either dual or single flush plates designed to complement our faucet collections – choose a dual flush model and you can save water by flushing with a reduced water volume.

GROHE actuation plates complement our faucet collections and will enhance your next bathroom project. They match our Rapid SL frames, feature GROHE EasyConnect – a single pneumatic hose for fast installation – and can even be retrofitted if required.

Fixed vertically or horizontally to suit their surroundings, the majority can also be fitted with GROHE Fresh – our solution for a clean and fresh WC at the push of a button.

Our WC plates feature dual-flush actuation of 6 liters and 3 liters – allowing the user to choose how much water to use. For further water saving, all GROHE cisterns can be adjusted to reduce the larger flush volume to 4.5 liters.

GROHE Fresh One-touch freshness

Creating innovative solutions for everyday problems is something that GROHE is proud of. GROHE Fresh brings a new level of convenience to the bathroom. It allows you to have the best of both worlds – the clean lines achieved from choosing a concealed cisterns and the continuous hygiene and cleanliness associated with cistern blocks. Until now, it was not possible to access a concealed cistern to add a cleaning block. GROHE Fresh features an easy-to-open actuation plate, which gives access to a slide that delivers the tablet into the cistern. The entire process takes seconds, thanks to the hinged plate that opens like a door.

GROHE Fresh is compatible with all GROHE concealed cisterns with small actuation plates – whether it’s a new installation project or the upgrade of an existing one. It is offered as a set with the actuation plate of your choice, or as retrofit accessory to use with your current cistern and plate. For older cisterns, simply remove the fixing frame, add the slide to the cistern and attach the new frame, then re-connect the pneumatic hose to the actuation plate. For cisterns without the AV1 flushing valve, a complete upgrade kit is available.

Reflecting the design aesthetic of the GROHE Cosmopolitan faucet and shower lines, the Nova Light actuation plate utilizes two basic geometric shapes. This simple combination of a circle framed by a rectangle is brought to life by a ring of light, while casting a gentle colored glow over the surrounding area. Mains-powered LED technology allows you to set the light to any color – blue, green, red, yellow or one of the many tones in-between – or to have a constantly changing spectrum.
