Our School…Our Safety Look out for each other!!
Concerned about someone? Bullied? Witness something wrong? TALK TO SOMEONE!
Dignity for All Students Act Learning is job #1! Discrimination and
harassment of students is not only wrong but illegal!
![Page 43: Greetings to the Class of 2021!](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022062411/568168aa550346895ddf4c1f/html5/thumbnails/43.jpg)
Our School…Our SafetyIn response to the the Dignity for All Students Act that went into effect throughout New York State in July of 2012, we at Newfane Middle School recognize the following:
All Students Should Have the Right to: A safe and supportive school environment where kids can focus and learn
An education free from harassment and discrimination from other students and adults A healthy, harassment free experience in classrooms, hallways, locker rooms, all school property, on
the school bus and at school events All members of the Newfane Middle School Community Need to Show:
Tolerance—accept differences among people Sensitivity—Understand that our words (spoken, written or typed) and actions can offend and hurt
others Respect: Protect the right of all students to learn and feel welcome at school
We understand that we must never make fun, disrespect or injure on the basis of anyone’s: Race Weight National Origin Ethnic Group Religion Religious Practice Mental Abilities Physical Abilities Sexual Orientation Gender Identity or Expression
Gender We agree that bullying is another form of harassment; that dignity for all students means that we
at all times are respectful and understanding of our individual differences
By signing below, I agree that I understand what the Dignity for All Students act is, and I pledge to follow it throughout the 2013-2014 school year in order to make Newfane Middle School a place
where students are supported, encouraged and treated with respect.
