GlobalCommunityDevelopmentStrategy20171December2016–31December2017

TheGlobalCommunityDevelopmentStrategyidentifiesthegoalsanddirectionforcommunitydevelopmentwithinTheGreenRoomCouncil(TGRC).ThestrategyfocusesonfosteringlocalengagementamongTGRCorganizationsaswellasimprovingconnectionandcommunicationacrosstheentireTGRCglobalnetwork.ThestrategyisalignedwiththemissionofTGRC.GOALS,STRATEGIES&OBJECTIVESBelowarethethree(3)keygoals,alongwiththecorrespondingstrategyandobjectives,toguideTGRC’sGlobal

CommunityDevelopmentStrategy2017.

I. GOAL:LocalEngagement&CollaborationCreatelocalengagementandcollaborationbetweenTGRCorganizations.

Strategy:EstablishTGRCCityHubs

(TGRCCityHubswillemulatetheglobalcouncilbyestablishinglocalconnectionandfosteringcollaborationbetweenTGRCorganizations.Purpose,structure,andactivitiesofthecityhubswillbesimilartotheglobalcouncil.ImplementationwillfocusoncitieswhereseveralTGRCorganizationsarealreadyestablished.)

Objectives:1. Conductone(1)pilotTGRCCityHubinDenver/Boulder,Colorado,UnitedStates,duringthe

firsthalfof2017.

2. Beginestablishingfive(5)additionalTGRCCityHubsaroundtheworld.

II. GOAL:Global/LocalConnection&Communication

FosterconnectionamongTGRCorganizationmembers,bothgloballyandlocally,basedonsimilarwork

andinterests,aswellasimprovethecommunicationchannelsbetweenallmembers.

Strategy:Implementvariousnetworkingandcommunicationtoolsthatcanbeusedacrosstheglobal

TGRCnetwork.

Objectives:1. ConductresearchandinterviewswithbothglobalandlocalleadersofTGRCorganizationsto

identifycoreneedsaroundfosteringconnectionandimprovingcommunication.

2. PilotandimplementnetworkingandcommunicationtoolswiththeleadersofTGRC

organizations.

3. ImplementnetworkingandcommunicationtoolsduringthepilotTGRCCityHubandwith

otherTGRCCityHubs.

III. GOAL:SustainableLocalOperationEnsuesustainableoperationandongoingcollaborationbetweenlocalTGRCorganizations.

Strategy:Developstandardoperatingprocedures(SOPs)toguidefutureimplementationand

managementoftheTGRCCityHubsaswellastheongoingoperationofglobalcommunity

developmentwithinTGRC.

Objectives:1. DevelopandadoptSOPstoguidetheoperationofTGRCCityHubsincluding1)identifying

candidatecities,2)establishingacityhub,and3)maintainingacityhub.

2. DevelopandadoptSOPstoguidetheroleofglobalcommunitydevelopmentwithinTGRC.

HIGH-LEVELACTIONSTEPSBelowarethehigh-levelactionstepsforeachoftheaboveidentifiedgoals.Adetailedactionplanwillbe

developedforeachquarterduring2017andsharedwiththeglobalcouncil.
