COMPANY OVERVIEWGreen Innovations, LLC was founded by Michael D. Jackson in January 2010 in New Orleans, LA. The company’s primary

products include eco-interest, eco-information, and platforms for other “green” commercial products to use that help people

ensure they are doing their part in providing healthy environments and sustainable lifestyles. Green Innovations can also

conduct green auditing and carbon footprint calculations for small to mid-size organizations as well as green coaching,

consulting, workshops, and retainer services. Certified Green Audits are licensed by Strategic Sustainability Consulting.

GREENING THE GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCEMichael has participated in two high profile development programs within the VA: Senior Resident Engineer Development

Program and the VA Central Office Leadership Development Mentoring Program (LDMP). During the LDMP, Michael was

recognized for his efforts and contributions to "Greening VA" through his dedicated service as a member of "Going Green

Routine" initiative. The VA's Green Routine (www.va.gov/greenroutine) is a direct result of President Barack Obama's

Greening the Government Executive Order 13514. Michael was awarded and received acknowledgement with a Certificate

of Appreciation by the VA's Chief of Staff, Mr. John R. Gingrich, for "creating a green culture and positioning VA as a

recognized leader among federal agencies".

INCREASING ECO-INTEREST THROUGH ECO-INFORMATIONAs a result of the Greening the Government experience, Michael founded a New Orleans based green start-up, Green

Innovations, LLC. Green Innovations provides a medium where sustainable practices, conservation concepts, green events

and lifestyles can be exchanged, promoted, and advertised. It's Michael's desire to help increase eco-interest through eco-

information via Green Innovations. Green Innovations will primarily use social media networks to accomplish this goal and

can be found on Facebook (www.facebook.com/GreenInnovations) as well as twitter (www.twitter.com/GrnInnovations).

Green Innovations will also assist green organizations and enthusiast in connecting with one another by creating an

eMagazine that will feature green initiatives, businesses, events, products and services.

CERTIFIED GREEN AUDITORAs a result of green market shortages, Michael needed to come up with a solution that helps establish Green Innovations in

the industry without branching off into services that are irrelevant. The Strategic Sustainability Consulting (SSC) Green

Auditor training was the solution! The SSC Green Auditor training taught him what some of the basic principles of the green

industry mean and how it applies to small to mid‐size businesses. Michael learned how to engage businesses, perform

preliminary scoping, the framework surrounding employee feedback and what information is pertinent in a facility to perform

a carbon footprint calculation. The training focused a lot on interaction with the client which is what he found very important

because, in the fledging green industry, most people don’t know what they want, need, or how to meet their organizational

plans to become sustainable. He also learned that the SSC Green Auditor is not only there to provide a final report that

explains an organizations sustainable position but, he’d be an option to the client in the future to assist in creating

Sustainability Action Plans, coaching and workshops.

By providing Certified Green Audits, Green Innovations will become the synergistic green start-up company it envisioned to

be.

On April 9, 2010, Green Innovations partnered with Eschelon Productions to host New Orleans 1st Earth Day

Celebration. The event was held at Cafe Rose Nicaud (623 Frenchmen Street NOLA 70116).

The event was put on due to the lack of any Earth Day recognition in the City.

After announcing the event on Future Focus (WVUE New Orleans), public interest for the event increased tremendously.

We had live jazz music by New Orleans’ own, Troy Sawyer and his trio.

We also had organic drinks, organic finger foods, and earth day items (promotional and sales; tee shirts, seed paper products, etc.). We also held a raffle that awarded the winner a bag of Eco-friendly goodies.

Entrance to the event was free. We took donations to supplement Green Innovations and Eschelon Production’s

efforts. 10% of the Earth Day 2010 Celebration proceeds were donated to Edible Schoolyard in recognition of their green initiatives at the Samuel Green School.

Outreach and promotion was done in conjunction with WBOK 1230AM on their environmental talk show, E-Talk. The host

and co-host of E-Talk attended the event as well.
