Ripon College's Greek Life NewsletterTRANSCRIPT
ABOUT THE GREEK NEWSLETTER . . .
The concept of the Greek Newsletter is to provide an avenue for information, updates, accolades and events that will highlight the eight Greek groups, the Greek national honor society, and governing council at Ripon College. Each issue will
include upcoming events, articles and opinion pieces by Ripon College Greeks, and the support system that surround them.
The ultimate hope of this newsletter is that the reader(s) will find him/herself more aware of Ripon College Greek Life, its
service to the community, and events present not only on the Ripon College campus, but in the community as well.

This past October, Greek
Council raised a total of
$120 for the United Way
with their dunk tank! At
the beginning of
November, Greek
Council conducted its
first ever Greek Panel.
The panel gave
independents-specifically
freshmen-the chance to
ask questions and hear
about all things Greek-
from dues, to social life,
to positions within the
chapter and leadership
opportunities. But as the
year has been winding
down, the Greeks
decided to throw a Greek
Ball! On November
20th, Greek council
threw their first annual
Greek Ball with a
Roaring 20s theme. The
turnout was very
successful and was
overall a great time for
Greeks. However, with
the semester coming to a
close, Greek Council is
preparing for their big
event-Greek Week-
which is to take place
next semester. The
planning is currently in
the works but be sure to
expect great things from
them! Lastly, the new
Greek Life Booklets that
highlight all aspects of
Greek Life are in! Stop
by Student Activities to
get yours!

Kappa Delta had a successful fall semester, with a packed calendar of sisterhood events, a photo shoot, study sessions with sisters, meals together, impromptu movie nights, ritual and house and house meetings, a visit from National Kappa Delta, and just hanging out on floor. We grew a great deal together, laughing and learning about ourselves and each other, and look forward to formal re-cruitment in January when we can share our sisterhood with others!
Kappa Delta installed their new council on Dec. 8. Congratulations to the following officers: Presi-dent Bristole Ryff, VP-Member Education Amy Lindsey, VP-Membership Alison Leaver, VP-Operations Melissa Velpel, VP-Community Service Katie Anne Peterson, VP-Public Relations Adrienne Strohmayer, VP-Standards Lorette Beechy, Secretary Brooke Olson, Treasurer Jordan Braband, and Panhellenic Representative Gillian Grocke.
Thank you to the outgoing officers for all of their handwork during the 2012-2013 term. Special recognition goes to President Amanda Mueller, VP-Member Education Alicia Barnes, VP-Membership Carlie Kloehn, VP-Operations Morgan Burns, VP-Community Service Kaylie Longley, VP-Public Relations Bristole Ryff, VP-Standards Cassie Bilotto, Secretary Katrina O'Neill, Treasurer Jordan Braband, and Panhellenic Representative Alyssa Mann.
Meet the Gamma Tau girls of Fall 2013, our newest additions to the sisterhood!
(Pictured, from left to right, is Andrea, Gillian, Sam, and Rachel.)
Gamma Tau is so proud to have these four wonderful young wom-en in our chapter and can't wait to see them grow!

The Delta Omega chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity tries to live by our motto “an assisting hand”. Every year we do our annual philanthropy event, Frisbee Golf, in the fall. At the event this year we exceeded our goal of $2,000 thanks to donations and the contributions of many, par-
ticularly the students on campus. As a group we try to set goals to enhance not only ourselves but others. Next fall we will once again be having Frisbee Golf as a fundraiser but are also think-ing of implementing a new philanthro-py event called Save Second Base. It would be a softball tournament during October to help raise breast cancer awareness on campus. We initiated six new members this fall and are looking
forward to next semester and all it has to bring.
