• Said to be the worst natural disaster in United States history.

• Michael Barnes, stuck on the 10th floor of an office building while Katrina hit, wrote blogs during and after the hurricane hit.

• It gave people a personal idea of what the people being affected were experiencing.

• Before people could not easily get information about situations this important unless they waited for the 6 pm news of the newspaper the next day.

• It was instant. People got information the moment it happened.
