THE ASK
For many, the thought of asking their friends and colleagues to donate to the CFC makes hands go clammy and nervous hearts beat faster. It’s actually pretty easy to do. Here are some tips to make talking with your co-workers stress-free and effective.
1. Make you own donationMake your own gift first so you can ask people to join you in supporting our community.
2. Be preparedRemember that there are more than 1,900 non-profit organizations in the 2015 Charity Listing, so it’s easy for every donor to find favorite charities.
3. Be proudIt is an honor to represent the CFC. You are giving your co-workers the chance to make a significant difference in their community. How great is that?
4. Speak face-to-faceTalk to your co-workers in person. Let them know that you support the CFC.
Giving is easy and there are over 1,900 charities to choose from. You can pick the one that means the most to you. You can give a little each pay period through payroll deduction. Small weekly donations quickly add up to a significant impact or make a one-time donation.5. Follow up with each of your co-workers. Ask if they have any questions or need
a pledge form.6. Say thank you and recognize employees who participated.
ONLINE GIVING
What is it? Universal Giving (UG) is a donation option that permits donors to pledge to any CFC-participating charity no matter where the donor or the charity is geographically located. Previously, only National, International, and Local charities in our campaigns territory were available to receive donors’ contributions. Now, with Universal Giving, all Local charities in all CFC regions are accessible to donors. Thus for those donors who wish to stay involved with a favored charity or charities outside the area, they may now do so through UG.
How does Universal Giving work? The list of UG charities can
only be accessed online. UG charities are too numerous to be l isted in this paper charity l isting. If you wish to donate to a local charity outside our campaign territory, log in to any of our online giving tools at www.greatermscfc.org to search for the charity you want to support. Enter the charity’s fi ve-digit code on your paper pledge form or the online donation tool of your choice: CFC Nexus, CFC Employee Express, MyPay, your phone or tablet. It’s that easy!
