THE DOLPA SECTION
Legend says Dolpa is a Beyul, one of the
“hidden valleys” created by Guru rinpoche
as a refuge for devout Buddhists and
those of exceptionally pure mind. Long ago
settled by nomads from Tibet, this hidden
land is one of the highest inhabited places
on earth, with scattered fortress-like
villages and monasteries nestling amongst
mountains of stark, ascetic beauty.
with it’s turquoise jewel of Phoksundo lake,
authentic Tibetan culture and adventurous
trails through wild landscapes, Dolpa is a
paradise for trekkers.
