If you are looking for an ad agency, you are in the wrong place. Because we don’t advertise. But we do ideate. Create. And innovate.

They are different words with quite different meanings. But look closer, and you’ll see the love triangle.

One can create, only when one has an idea. And when one has an original idea...voila, one has innovated.

Yes, innovation is not limited to science and technology. And why should it. It is after all, just a new method. So why can one, not communicate innovatively.

Not always with innovative tools. But with innovative thoughts, each and every time.

We had started off with this belief. 15 years back. A lot has changed since, but the thought remains. Something else that hasn't changed, is our small set up that yields big ideas.

ABOUT US

Page 3: graphite

CORE TEAMHe is not an artist by qualification. But an artist by choice - by his heart, soul, mind and his entire being. And became so against the disapproval of his entire world. He found his first inspiration in his then-budding-now-established-artist Uncle who went to the Government Art College, Calcutta. He wanted to go there himself, but was not allowed to. He was coaxed into becoming an accountant (nothing against the profession; but he was just not meant to be one). But later quit his job and went on to create Graphite Studio.

He chooses to look quite fittingly typically to the creative world - beard, denims and khaddar, lot of cigarettes, cannot do without coffee, etc. But is mischievously atypical in his style of work. He listens a lot, suggests quite a bit, loves his space, gives you space, takes your feedback, is courageous and experimental and is exceedingly logical about them. He has been the shepherd at Graphite Studio for 15 years now. And has managed quite well to get the best work out of the weird mix that work with him.

When he is not working (which rarely happens) he likes to paint. And also exhibits his paintings. He has found his place in the form of speed painting in the Neo Expressionism style.

SubhamayThe Shepherd

She has a theory for anything she looks at. And that is not funny. Because she has the knowledge about the theory of a lot of things. A hell lot of things.

And most importantly about graphic designing. Born into a family that lives on (not just loves) art, she most obviously has a refined taste when it comes to art, in its varied forms. Her father, an advertising professional himself, introduced little Amrita to dry-transfer lettering, tracing papers, fashion photography, graphic designing, very early on. And the little one too, found it all quite amusing. Her love and knowledge of this industry is that deep rooted.

Identifying a style of designing and classifying it to a particular period it was prevalent in, is one of the things she takes pride in. But what we take pride in is the way she converts client briefs into a vivid visual for everyone to work around.

Though she chose to study Philosophy, she says she is going to take her love for graphic art to the grave. But something she says comes close to it, is her obsession with wearing lipsticks; she wears lipstick even when going to bed. And has a theory to that too.

CORE TEAM

Designs and Shohini have a chemistry. They have a harmony working in there. Designing happened to her like it was her love at first sight (if such a thing exists of course).

Born to an artist father, she grew up with nothing else on her mind. Her father’s works, works of other artists (some very renowned, many not as much) were primarily what she grew up, looking at. While she knew she wanted to be a graphic designer, she did not study it. She went to art school nonetheless, but to study print making. She says she was determined to learn something she had not seen at home.

Graduating from art college was followed by her hands-on sessions with graphic designing tools, and learning all about that there is, to the design industry. All by herself.

Shohini’s passion for and self-exposure to traditional art forms, such as the masked Gomira dancers of Dinajpur, the singing scroll painters or Patuas of Medinipur, or the Dokra artists of Bikna, have fine-tuned her artistic sensibilities that she was already born with. She loves dancing, painting, and experimenting with various media such as installation. But all that, only when she finds time. Which is very rare, given that she is mostly kicking ass with a mouse in her hands.

Shohini The Fanatic

Anindita is the human version of the Energiser Bunny high on Red Bull. If she puts her mind to it there is no stopping her. And she can talk. Talk and talk! But not one word will be out of context.

Growing up in a sleepy small town with a noisy bunch of boys for friends; set the stage for this O.P.Nayyar loving girl who cooked, read, and decided to be the master of her own destiny.

Anindita writes with a wondrous balance of research and belief. She knows what to keep and what to throw away mercilessly. We bank on her to kick us out of our day dreams and get back to work.

Anindita writes. Cooks. Bakes. Gets tattoos. And dreams of moving to Paris someday.

Creating Brand Personality

Not only does this field require creativity, but also coherent strategy. And, trust us when we say, “we’ve got it all covered.” What we mean is, we just won’t make your logo, design your visiting cards & corporate stationery and work on the packaging. We will, instead, work on creating and defining a personality for your brand; an image that will help you connect with your customers and audience.

Creative Services

Communication is a basic need, because one has to communicate all the time. And so does your brand and your products - through brochures/catalogues, annual reports, newsletters/magazines, direct mailers, posters, flyers, billboards, packaging, labels, print ads, audio-visuals, et al. And we do it all.

UI/UX

Websites, mobiles apps, social apps and prototypes. In the current day these are like cheese spread on your bread.

Social Media

Of all places that your consumer goes, he goes online most frequently and even more frequently to access the social media platform. So taking a plunge here without a strategy, proper content and without a plan for platform optimisation, would be quite an immature thing to do. But then we’ve got that part covered too.
