FEBRUARY 2013 NOVEMBER 2018 CLEAR22
Day-to-day, I spent the last 5 years working independently or as part of the team, on a huge variety of projects from creating branded Word templates in 15 minutes to a 190 page Regulations for Water Quality brochure, from leaflets explaining the retrieval of space debris to targeted term diaries covering year groups 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8, small to large format, digital and litho print, websites from design to build, advertising, logos, branding, brochures, reports, technical diagrams, animation, photography, tabloids, exhibitions, PowerPoint presentations and templates, illustration, signage, icons, digital newsletters, point of sale, campaigns, instructional teaching guides, digital channel promotions, commercial vehicle vinyls, info-graphics, packaging, pop-up banners, stationery and more.
AUGUST 2004 FEBRUARY 2013 SINGLE PARENT
Pausing my career to focus on my children and support my father through his battle with MS, presented opportunities to give back to my community; as a School Governor, Chairman of our local Art Club and lead organiser of the first Basingstoke Festival of Art & Crafts, gaining the Mayoral Community Award in 2013 for my efforts. I also spent a rewarding time caring for the elderly and working part-time with severely autistic children at The Loddon School.
APRIL 1994 AUGUST 2004 DENNIS PUBLISHING
I worked freelance, then full-time, then as Art Editor on magazines for Dennis Publishing where my responsibilities included producing great looking, monthly magazines on time and within budget, managing the design and production teams, as well as commissioning photography and illustration, directing photo-shoots and maintaining the magazine archive.
AUGUST 1988 APRIL 1994 IPC MAGAZINES
In my early career I worked as a freelance designer, mostly at IPC Magazines, on a variety of magazines, as well as within the marketing department, eventually taking the design lead in the Research and Development Team.
