What is Graphic Design?

The art of using design elements to convey information, and visually communicate a message/id

Consider these five things before you design to design:

Typefaces

• Text is a powerful visual element when used well.

• Spend time choosing an appropriate typeface for your posters/booklets/presentations.

• Different fonts convey differents meanings

Why do font choices matter?

Typography provides that at-a-glance first impression that people judge the rest of the design by. So your font choices need to be purposeful and appropriate.

• KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid)• Stick to two or fewer fonts in the

poster.

• The most important element on the poster should be the most prominent

• Place the element in a shape that's different from other on the page, make it the boldest, biggest,
