Once upon a time, not long ago, a num-ber of “special magical” individuals se-cretly lived among ordinary animal and human populations. These “special” animals or people could transform into other creatures. For example, a “spe-cial” Bear could transform into a hu-man wearing a bearskin coat and then, poof. He or she could transform back into a bear again. .

These animals could also transform into other forms including humans.

The special creatures with these “magi-cal” powers lived in three kingdoms: the Sky Realm, the Earth Realm and the Underwater World. Many could travel between two or even three of the these planes. Other were trapped in a single plane.

When people weren’t watching, these special Bears, Whales, Eagles, Hawks, Beavers, Frogs and so on preferred to live in human form. In this way, they lived exactly as Native people did at contact. They fell in love, got mar-ried, took care of their children, fished for salmon, made longboats and held dance ceremonies. They even made their own totem poles, had wars among themselves and behaved... just like hu-mans do!

The dockSide reSTauranTFine dining in a unique and stunning setting

The Dockside Restaurant is located in the Granville Island Hotel nestled on the banks of False Creek.

The Dockside Restaurant offers superbly prepared classic dishes in a setting like no other. Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.

The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

These three venues offer seating options that are perfect for groups from 4 to 200. With signature elements like a 50-foot aquarium and an open kitchen, each meal is an experience for all the senses. Located adjacent to the boutique Gran-ville Island Hotel, the Dockside Restaurant is open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended.

menuSThe Dockside Restaurant has a wide range of daily a la carte menus cov-ering breakfast, brunch, lunch, din-ner and casual lounge selections. We have extensive experience catering to large parties and events, and a num-ber of year-round and seasonal group and catering menus are available for download. Please contact us directly if you are unsure of the appropriate menu or have any questions related to our food.

Food & BeverageOur menu of casual classics is built upon a foundation of the freshest lo-cal ingredients and OceanWise certi-fied seafood. The dishes are honest and unfussy, yet each one is prepared with expert craft, care and a passion-ate attention to detail. A daily Fresh Sheet showcases seasonal creations and our culinary inspirations made with the catch of the day.

The open kitchen is our centrepiece, wrapped with a 50 foot aquarium and highlighted with the flames from our large forno oven; fired up to 500 de-grees and turning out prime rib, roast-ed chicken and some of the best thin crust pizzas in town.

To accompany our menu, the Dock-side Restaurant makes eight signature beers in one of Vancouver’s only in-house breweries. A sampler six-pack of 6oz glasses will help you find a fa-vourite to perfectly compliment your meal or to enjoy all on its own while relaxing in our lounge, restaurant bar or on our patio. Whether it’s a Pelican Bay Brown Ale or the popular, hibis-cus-infused Jamaican Lager our Brew-er, Craig Ludtke crafts something that will be perfect for your taste.

Wine lovers aso get spoiled at Dock-side with a 150-bottle selection that spans selections from BC’s world-class wine growing regions and superb reds, whites and bubbles from around the World.
