Autism is a condition which means a person’s brain works differently to other people’s and affects the way they experience the world around them. The term Autism does not refer to one specific condition but instead refers to a wider group of conditions (Autism spectrum). At least one in 100 children in the UK has an autism spectrum condition (ASC). We will be celebrating ‘World Autism Awareness Week’ by raising awareness and understanding of Autism to help our children to better understand and support their classmates who have an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). World Autism Awareness Week

What is Autism?

Autism is a condition which means a person’s brain works

differently to other people’s and affects the way they

experience the world around them.

Certificates given this week were for RESILIENCE

Aurora For always doing the right thing and trying very hard to

become an independent writer.

Elliott For always trying his best and is fantastic at trying out

new strategies in Maths.

Anes For being a very hard working boy who never gives up

even when the task becomes challenging.

Samar For continually working hard in class and trying her

best; never complaining.

Ricco For improving his behaviour and working hard.

Rebekah For being more focused in class and improving her work

Rebeka For persevering and trying to work independently.

Sohil For trying his best with his writing and never giving up

Medan For trying really hard in her English.

Quinten For not letting mistakes keep him down

Ahsen For showing resilience with her reading and not giving

up when reading longer and trickier words.

Jayden For trying hard to improve his handwriting.

Certificates given this week were for RESILIENCE

Neriyah for showing resilience by not giving up in Maths, even

when she found it difficult.

Jordan for accepting a challenge in Art and rising to it, creating

an amazing model.

Yasmin For showing resilience and determination in our D.T.

activity then when completing her work going to support

her peers.

Umar For giving it a go. He found adding more than 3 numbers

hard, persevered, and developed his strategy to achieve

his task.

Bogdan for always persevering even though certain tasks might

be challenging, Bogdan always does his best.

Samina for always trying her best even though there may be

challenges, she is resilient.

Asare for showing the value of resilience by working hard and

completing 3 paragraphs of descriptive writing.

Bernice for showing the value of resilience by not giving up when

her Maths work was difficult, and deciding to give it a go.

Aiyaz showing determination whilst completing his

assessments.

Morgan continuing to improve his writing even when it has been

really challenging!

Abraham for continuing to improve his work and work hard.

Nissi for not giving up and working hard to keep going with her
