Help Residents Recycle Right

In the continued effort to address contamination and protect workers

safety along with the public investment in equipment, we will be

launching another intensive recycle right promotional campaign in August

and we need your help to educate residents!

Stay tuned. We will provide promotional materials for the Recycle Right

campaign, like the image below for social media, municipal websites and

other public postings.

Together we can combat the contamination and maintain a strong and

sustainable recycling program!

Electronics/Appliance Recycling Report

HERE is the collection event data for the March collection and cumulative

totals for 2018. Thank you again to the City of New Berlin and their

staff for hosting the event as well as the vendors for great execution!

The next event will be in the City of Muskego on May 12.

Thank you again for the continued cooperation to provide safe,

convenient recycling options for residents in Waukesha County.

Important note: Many sites offer other services to residents (general

recycling, yard waste, etc.) during these collection events and we ask

that municipalities communicate pertinent information to the vendors

prior to the event to ensure they are able to provide accurate

information to residents.

Homeowners Association Stormwater

Education Initiative

Education programs are critical when a homeowners association (HOA)

is responsible for maintaining a stormwater pond or other BMP.

However, it can be a difficult to educate an HOA--how do you contact

Page 5: Grand Opening Success! - Waukesha County · grand opening Recycle monster craft at the grand opening received with almost 400 people in attendance that learned about the environmental

them and what do you tell them? Will they come to a workshop and

what will their reaction be? Working with the Town of Delafield, a pilot

Homeowners Association Education Workshop will be held June 6th at

Delafield Town Hall.

The workshop will present information on what homeowners

associations can do to maintain their BMP's including what they can do

themselves and what they will need to hire out. A list of helpful

resources will also be made available.

Check back in the next issue for a report on how this pilot program was

received and consider signing up to host one in your community!
