February 2016 general meeting minutes – 2/9/2016

- Before the meeting a 1st Degree ceremony was held. 5 candidates became Knights.

- GK opened the meeting with a prayer at 8 p.m.

- Chancellor introduced our new members Joe Castagno, Bob Bestgen, and transfer members Jack Schaffer, Nick Angelini.

-GK read some thank you notes for donations we made.

- Treasurer gave report.

- Financial Secretary reported on the Teachers' Appreciation breakfast and other bills and income.

- Tom Wardenburg-Holy Spirit Assembly will meet on Feb 24 at Incarnate Word, 7 p.m.

- Bob Walker - St. Louis Assembly will meet Feb 10 at Seven Holy Founders, 7 p.m.

- Chancellor - 2nd/3rd Degree ceremonies will be at noon 2/23 at Incarnate Word. Others will be 3/10 and 4/13. 4th Degree ceremony will be in March.

- Gene Bestgen - Parish Mission Mon Feb 22 - Thurs Feb 25. We have been asked to provide 4 Knights to direct traffic from 6 to 7 p.m. A sign up paper is passed around.

- This weekend a 5 minute video will be played of Fr. Larry Richards inviting people to the parish mission.

- Bob Brossette - March 16 we will take a dinner to the Sts Peter & Paul men's shelter.

- Dep Grand Knight - The youth free throw contest went well. Scoring of written essays will be reviewed at the Feb officers meeting.

- Tom Tracy - Script sales has a return on investment of 5.43%, more than last year. Sold 3600 cards plus any reloaded.

- 2nd Yr Trustee - spoke about Bingo. Feb 20. Will be a big one and need extra help.

- We spoke about where to give the proceeds from the 50/50 and tip jar. Decided to give it to Fisher House (Ronald McDonald House for Veterans). We also voted to give $200 to Fisher House now.

- March Bingo will be on the 3rd Saturday March 19th.

- Walter Batz gave the baseball pool report

- Feliz Coures dance is on the 2nd Saturday of March at St. Clare of Assisi

- Chancellor - Reported that our web site has thank you notes from people affected by the Tootsie Roll Drive.

-GK - Missouri Religious Vocation Fund promotes vocations. Motion passed to donate $100.

- St. Joseph Radio's Man of the Year Dinner is May 1st. We will wait to make a donation during the telethon.

-Treasurer - for the new members, the newsletter is sent via e-mail. The wives of new members can join the Ladies Auxiliary and we will pay their first year's dues.

- District Deputy Bob Walker welcomed new members and transferees.

- Reported on awards and what we need to achieve them.

- Mentioned the state convention is March 22-24.

-GK requested prayers for Ernie Doorack's upcoming surgery and for healing for Marilyn Chappuis.

- GK closed the meeting at 9:00.
