“Grampians” – Ride to Remember

The “Grampians” Ride to Remember is organised by motorcycle enthusiasts, all recreational riders from the Grampians Region who want make a contribution to their community. They form a Sub Committee of the Ararat Branch of the Foundation who will ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for all participants.

There are obvious synergies between the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation, police and motoring. We are grateful for the support of our local experienced motorcycle riders, Ararat Police Highway Patrol, Ararat Rural City and Northern Grampians Shire who are assisting with the planning of the Ride.

The Traffic Management and Safety Plan for the “Grampians” Ride to Remember will be under the supervision of the Ararat Police Highway Patrol. This will be a „green corridor’ event under police escort to maximise safety and to minimise

disruption to other road users. Because we will be expecting hot conditions at this time of the year, there will be a refreshment stop (30 minutes) at Pomonal Hall so that riders can rehydrate and stretch their legs.

Parking of bikes following the Ride will be in a designated area close to the BBQ Lunch area. This will include those entering the „Show N Shine‟.

REGISTRATION in advance (see Early Birds Special Offer) is preferred however entries will be accepted on the day of the

Ride at the starting point.

Riders registering on the day will need to arrive early and make sure they complete registration formalities prior to the start time. The Registration Area will operate from 8.15am.

There will be a formal briefing for Riders at 9.00am outlining details of the route and any conditions that may apply to the day.

The Main Ride is 178km so please ensure you have adequate fuel on board to cover the distance. Also bottled water a good idea to pack for the Ride as weather could be warm.

STARTING POINT: Ararat Performing Arts Centre, Barkly St Ararat (designated area) - see map below for directions.

The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation doesn’t just remember lives…it saves them!
