We offer a 24 hour 7 day a week breakdown service to all customers, and have a team of very capable breakdown electricians who carry a multitude of spares to improve down-time, saving our customers money. We also have a host of suppliers so that if we do not have a part we can source it quickly, as we know time not working is money lost.

our electricians have extensive knowledge of building and repairing control panels, both farm and industrial, along with fault finding and we can install and work on ladder logic programming systems.

We are able to design and install electrical systems to conform with all ateX requirements.

We currently work in grain stores, livestock buildings, mills, aircraft hangers, underground car parks, industrial buildings, breweries, rape seed oil bottling facilities and domestic housing.

We operate from our headquarters in Wiltshire throughout the South of england, the midlands and up to manchester but have carried out work in northern ireland, the isle of Wight, Yorkshire and poland. Fabrication

our fabrication department has been ce marked to en1090-1 since march 2015 to Execution Class 2. Our Notified body number is 1224 and held with Bmtrada.

We currently have an amada 3m press-brake and guillotine with a large workshop and 8 ton overhead crane, including lathes and all other machinery required for a busy fabricating team. We operate with four qualified welding operators all CE approved.

We manufacture our own elevator and reception pits, form conveyor sections, cleaner stands and platforms, stairs and ladders all to the latest regulations and all ce approved (where required). We have undertaken contracts for ornate balustrades and stairways for domestic clients. our department has also designed and made various sets of sluice gates that are now in use on the rivers Kennet, the avon and the thames. We have also carried out a project fabricating cattle feed gates as a customer was let down.

BK has designed and fabricated its own steel doorway barriers for grain stores which at 1t each allows a farm to hold back grain in its store without central pillars and do not degrade or take a long time to set up like wooden units, these again have structural calculations and are ce marked.

Stainless Steel work is undertaken frequently especially in the mills and food processing plants.

all galvanising is carried out to en iSo 1461 on our products, if the customer requires it.

We also have a spray booth and carry out all painting in-house if preferred.

at BK grain we carry out both 28 day and full planning applications, including complex cases, and have a team in place to ensure it is dealt with quickly and all issues are resolved to avoid a long list of conditions once planning is granted.

We are able to deal with all planning issues including carrying out noise, environmental, ecological, Bat and Highways surveys and Heritage statements. We carry out our own Construction Traffic Management Plans as required and have extensive experience in the moving of rights of way for the council.

We have had a great deal of success in our planning applications as we work closely with most councils in the South of england, the midlands, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Wales.

We have submitted planning for grain stores, mill buildings, industrial buildings, livestock buildings, Straw barns, Warehouses/Workshops with offices, Breweries and General Purpose buildings.

Health&SafetyBK Grain has its own in-house qualified Health & Safety advisor who is a technical member of ioSH (tech ioSH) and an associate member for the association for project Safety (aapS).

All projects are carried out according to The Construction (Design & management) regulations 2015. We can act as principal designers and principal contractors which allows us to help our clients stay compliant, under the new regulations the “client” can be prosecuted for breaches in Health & Safety on their construction sites. As per Regulations we also vet all our sub-contractors and ensure that all their paperwork is compliant so that our customers do not have to.

We as a team carry out a full design risk analysis on every project we design taking out construction risk as well as operator/user risk and that of maintenance teams in the future. all projects come with a construction Phase Plan and Health & Safety Project Plan, on commencement, and are given a Health & Safety File on completion.

all site welfare and signage is carried out by the construction team on arrival to site and conforms to the cdm regs 2015 Schedule 2, with water and electric run to the cabins. Site supervisors ensure that all construction staff are inducted onto the site before beginning work and that all paperwork has been received and is in order.

We also carry out farm/business risk assessments, checking whether they are compliant and offering solutions when they are not. these can help reduce business insurance costs when acted upon and more importantly keeps all employees and contractors safe.

Our employees receive regular and full health & safety training and all are trained in Working with asbestos. all staff receive forklift, scissor and boom lift operation training by our fully qualified in-house RTITB instructor who also carries out training for our customers and sub-contractors under the national operator register Scheme (norS).
