CE 403, Fall 2011 Graduation Portfolio 1/2 Each student will submit a graduation portfolio following the guidelines presented by Dr. Fridley in class at the beginning of the semester. Draft copies of your portfolio are due to Dr. Richardson October 31. The draft portfolios will be graded and returned to you with comments. As discussed in class, you may submit your portfolio as a “pdf” file. Here are the steps for preparing an electronic portfolio: 1. Download the template (a Microsoft Word file) from the class website. You must save the file with the extension “.docx”. 2. Review the 14 outcomes on the second page. For each outcome, select a minimum of three appropriate examples from your coursework that demonstrate mastery of that outcome. Scan the examples and assign a name to each. For example, “F1_Ex2” could be the name for example #2 for outcome F1. Make sure that the scans are dark enough to be legible. 3. For each work sample, write a two to three sentence description of what you did in the work sample, and how it demonstrates proficiency of the outcome. See the example descriptions on the third page of the template. The quality of your descriptions will determine the bulk of your portfolio grade. Try to use the same verbs (bolded on the second page of the template) in your descriptions. 4. Insert your name on the first and second pages. Proof read your portfolio before the next step. 5. Save your portfolio as an “Adobe PDF” file.

the examples and assign a name to each.  For example, “F1_Ex2”  could be the name for

example #2 for outcome F1.  Make sure that the scans are dark enough to be legible.

3. For each work sample, write a two to three sentence description of what you did in the work

sample, and how it demonstrates proficiency of the outcome.  See the example descriptions on

the third page of the template.  The quality of your descriptions will determine the bulk of your

portfolio grade.  Try to use the same verbs (bolded on the second page of the template) in your

descriptions.

4. Insert your name on the first and second pages.  Proof read your portfolio before the next step.
