February 13, Tuesday Canada / Memphis We arrive in Memphis and transfer to the venerable Peabody Hotel to check in. Mike will lead a short walking tour of Beale Street, where B.B. King and W.C. Handy made blues music history. This evening, we will have a group dinner at the Majestic Grill in the heart of Memphis' old downtown. Peabody Hotel (2 nights) D

February 14, Wednesday Memphis In the morning, we will have a guided tour of Sun Studio, where Elvis was discovered and Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and many others made their first recordings. Afterwards, we'll visit Graceland, Elvis' mansion for a tour. The evening is a leisure. February 15, Thursday Memphis / Nashville In the morning we will visit the National Civil Rights Museum, dedicated to the inspiring story of the African-American Civil Rights movement, for a guided tour. From there, we will travel by private coach to Nashville. After checking into our hotel we will convene for dinner at City Fire in the Gulch neighbourhood. Finally, we will enjoy a bluegrass music performance at the legendary Station Inn. Hilton Garden Inn (4 nights) February 16, Friday Nashville In the morning we will have a private walking tour of downtown Nashville taking in the landmarks and stories of classic country music history. A charter bus will take us from the hotel to Opryland for a backstage tour, followed by dinner. That night we will enjoy a performance of the Grand Ole Opry, the longest-running radio show in history and a repository of country music royalty. D

February 17, Saturday Nashville After a free morning, we will visit the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum. We will also tour RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and other legends recorded classic hit records in the 1950s and 60s. The evening is free to explore the honky-tonks of Lower Broadway and the many excellent restaurants in the area.

February 18, Sunday Nashville Today we have a free morning and afternoon, with many recommendations of local attractions on offer. This evening we gather for a group dinner at The Southern Steak and Oyster, one of Nashville's finest restaurants. D

February 19, Monday Nashville / Canada Check out of the hotel this morning and take a prepaid shuttle to the airport. Just don't step on my blue suede shoes.

Dr. Mike Daley and his wife Jill are both professional musicians and avid travellers. Mike holds a Ph.D in musicology from York University and is a popular instructor for later life learning programmes around the GTA as well as the Hot Docs Theatre Curious Minds lecture series. Mike is also an adjunct professor at York University and has published articles on Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley in international journals. Jill is a full-time musician at Canada's National Ballet School where she also teaches music history in the teacher training programme. Mike and Jill have led music-themed tours in New York City, Chicago, New Orleans and St. John's since 2011 and they look forward to sharing their second Nashville/Memphis tour with you.
