Key Projects: Hospitals on Solar

The project electrified 10 Hospitals in Bajaur and Mohammad Agency-areas of FATA onto Solar. These hospitals were demolished by the Taliban and were then reconstructed by USAID

to make them fully functional. The project was unique as it carried a lot of impact and completely uplifted the availability of medical resources for the locals. (March 2013)

Key Projects: Schools on Solar

The project was carried out in Sona Public School in Mirpur Mathelo (Sindh) as a Corporate Social Responsibility project by Fauji Fertilizers. The completely Off-Grid system is used to run the

essential load of the school consisting of lighting, fans, and computer labs 365 days, regardless of any weather conditions. The diesel generator that was previously installed is no more in use thus

providing a clean & noise free environment to the students and faculty. (October 2012)

Key Projects: Fuel Pumps onto Solar

The following project marked the first installation of the Radian Series Inverter, launched Outback Power at PSO and Attock petrol pump. The hybrid system offered was customized to the utmost level and was used to run the pumps and the lighting load. A monitoring system was

also put up to analyze the output of the system. The Diesel generator that was previously installed by the client was no more in use. (First Installation May 2013)

Key Projects: Banks and ATMs onto Solar

Grace Solar’s latest penetration into the thriving financial sector of Pakistan opens a new sector of the

economy which direly requires solar solution, with ATM machines running 24/7 being the biggest target for any bank. Currently in process, Grace Solar is converting first 14 ATM machines for Bank Alfalah onto Solar

along with 2 branches, which marks the start of this new intervention. (August 2013)

Key Projects: Solar Vaccine Freezers

Polio occurrence in the region of FATA, North and South Waziristan, was once very high due to the unavailability of proper vaccine and therefore international agencies such as USAID were able to convince the locals to adapt to measures for proper vaccine treatment. As there was no

Grid available in these areas hence storage of vaccine was a problem which is why Grace Solar, being the only company in Pakistan that designs and supplies solar vaccine freezing systems, was

rewarded this project. The freezers were placed in the government hospitals and Community health care centers of the areas Bajaur, Mohmand, Orkzai, Upper and Lower Kurram Agencies.

Key Projects: Solar Water Pumps

Grace Solar has successfully converted numerous outstretched barren lands into cultivable, through the installation of Solar Water Pumps. Having worked with various organizations such as USAID, Grace Association, and Fauji Fertilizers; the organization has set up more than a 100

pumps across Pakistan and Afghanistan, as the authorized dealers of Lorentz. Most of the conversions took place in Jalalabad, Qarghaee, Labnan, Behsood Naugarhar, Bajaur and

Bahawalpur.

solar water solutions, converting barren lands arid.

Key Projects: Solar Lanterns

Through the funding of Edinburgh Direct Aid, 3,000 solar lantern systems were provided to the displaced communities of Nelum Valley, in the village of Sharda Valley, Kashmir. After the

2005 earthquake the villages in the Nelum valley were left completed detached from infrastructure facilities, with no connection to the main electric lines.

Key Projects: Solar Water Heaters

In collaboration with USAID and Save the Children, Solar Water Heaters were provided to the residents of Bagh village, AJK, where hot/warm water was not available for children and thus the illness rate was very high. The locations for these systems were very far flung with routes having extremely difficult terrain. The main targeted places were the hospitals, schools and mosques. This followed a greater scale of penetration going into Allai Village in KPK, in

partnership with Royal Netherlands Embassy, Save the Children and WHO.

Key Projects: Wind/Solar Hybrid Systems

This project was installed at a remote construction site of Baluchistan at the Makran Costal Belt that had the combination of a wind turbine and solar system. Due to the unavailability of Grid

this dual system proved to be a great success and provided enough power to complete the construction work in the area.

Key Projects: Solar Home Systems and Wind Turbines

Through the funding of UNDP, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund

(PPAF), Royal Netherlands Embassy (RNE) and GEF and under the mandate of MakranCoast Wetland Conservation

Program (MCWC), 3,000 solar systems were set up in the area of Dashtt Desert, compromising over 7 villages. These areas inhabited by fisherman, living below the poverty line, have no access to

infrastructure and live lives below the poverty line.
