The Ukraine is a vast country(374,294 sq miles), almost thesize of Texas and New Mexicocombined. It lies between Russiaand central Europe and has apopulation of forty-nine millionpeople. Its capital is Kiev, whereSlavic Christianity was bornmore than a thousand years ago. Most Ukrainians are of theOrthodox faith, with many oth-ers of the Greek, or UniteCatholic Church. EvangelicalChristians make up less thanfour percent of the population. However eighty-nine percent ofthe population identifies itself asChristian.

Christianity was bornmore than a thousand

years ago in Keiv.

Chernobyl exploded,releasing thirty to

forty times theradioactivity of the

atomic bombsdropped on

Hiroshima andNagasaki, Japan.

Ethnic lines are blurred withwidespread inter-marriage, espe-cially between Ukrainians andRussians. Ukrainian is the officiallanguage, with Russian beingspoken and understood by almosteveryone. A great tragedyoccurred on April 26, 1986 whenthe Number Four reactor at thenuclear power plant at Chernobylexploded, releasing thirty to fortytimes the radioactivity of theatomic bombs dropped onHiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.Hundreds of thousands ofUkrainians, Russians andBelorussian were affected andseveral million are still living in

contaminated areas. Each year atthe Go Ye camp, we have youngpeople who are suffering from theeffects of the radiation.

Most of the young peoplenow at the Go Ye camp were onlysmall when the Ukraine was partof the Soviet Union. I find myselfable to talk about that period oftheir history,

knowing more about it than theydo. It was on November 9, 1989that the Berlin Wall fell. In 1991,I was standing on the square inthe center of Lviv when theUkraine declared independence. It was a euphoric and gloriousmoment as people laughed andcried when the Ukrainian flagwas displayed. There was thepossibility of the former SovietRepublic transforming itself intoa thriving economy and aEuropean democracy. But cor-ruption and red tape continue tostifle the economy and any realchanges.

Go Ye has conducted yearly

youth camps

Go Ye has conducted yearlyyouth camps since 1991. We haveseen nearly two hundred fifty con-verts with many now serving aspastors or missionaries, and inother positions of leadership. There were again this year aboutseventy-five people present. Therewas a spirit of unity and God'spresence and anointing on thedaily lectures and evening mes-sages. Twenty-three young peoplecame forward for salvation (thir-teen boys and ten girls). Therewere some back from last year’scamp that brought friends so thattheir friends could receive the giftof eternal life through Christ Jesus!

Brother Peter, the man I haveworked with since 1989, emigratedto the United States in August2002. Leadership has been passedto a much younger pastor who hasa burden for young people. I lookforward to the 2003 camp withboth concern and excitement as mytrust is in the God of heaven andearth "that is able to do exceedingabundantly above all that we ask orthink, according to the power thatworketh in us," (Ephesians 3:20).

SarSarahahI have been

blessed to hearmany stories ofm i s s i o n a r i e sdown throughthe years whohave answeredthe call of Godto follow Christ

and to reach out to others. Therefore,I was honored and humbled when myUncle Roger said that he felt God hadimpressed upon him to invite me togo with him this past summer to GoYe Ministries annual Ukraine YouthCamp in July.

My parents and I spent a lot oftime seeking God concerning whetherI should go or not, and God did openup the way for me to go. What fol-lowed was truly some essential spiri-tual lessons for me. One lesson wasthat the people you go to minister, and to bless, could minister, teach, and touch you double fold. TheUkrainian people I met were literally, all the time just seeking to do some-thing for you.

Another lesson I learned was,you can plan, work, and have every-thing seemingly perfect, but withoutthe presence and touch of God it's justanother message, song, or praisetime. For instance I noticed my Uncleand the youth camp leaders did theninety-nine percent preparation, butthen they stood back and let God dothe impossible in touching and "sav-ing" lives.

“Christ’s presencefilled the room”

Sometimes, when the young peo-ple would go down to accept the Lord, you could feel Christ's presence fill theroom. The hunger that I sensed andsaw for God in the young people wasawe-inspiring to me.

I noticed about the leaders overthe camp, that they practiced Christteaching of; "…. He that is greatestamong you shall be your servant" (Matt23:11). They truly waited on every-body and gave them individual atten-tion. All ages, and from different back-ground situations, seemed to have ahunger for God's truth and love.

Something that I saw about them, and that surprised me at times, wasthe lack of basic knowledge about theBible, and Jesus, and their desire toknow more. Another fact that sur-prised me and filled me with a greatsympathy was that many of theyoung people who had acceptedChrist at camp the year before hadgone through many trials with theirparents since their conversion lastsummer. Their parents, (some ofthem), would not allow them to go tochurch, and yet they had kept theirfaith and had come back to campagain. I am praying that God willsend forth laborers to answer theirquestions about God, the Bible, andlife.

I'd like to close my testimonywith this verse from Matthew 9:37-38, "Then saith he unto his disciples, Theharvest truly is plenteous, but the labor-ers are few, pray ye therefore the Lord ofthe harvest, that he will send forth labor-ers into his harvest." I will be foreverglad that I got to go to this camp. Itwas a spiritually rich and life-chang-ing experience for me to see, andhear, and be a part of the youth camp.

Testimonies From Youth Camp

(Edited some forEnglish, and clarity.Aliona is 17 years oldand did some trans-lation at the camp.)

There are four of us in my family. There are my parents, my younger sis-ter and me. We are supposed to be afriendly and cultured family and I wasraised in a warm and attentive family.I have always been a diligent childwith no problems with alcohol orsmoking. My life seemed to be perfect

in many ways, however my father isblind and being a child, this was hardto deal with.

In the fifth form I made friendswith so called "class-star" and I wasvery proud of this. But I didn't noticethat she didn't value me as a realfriend. She humiliated me and usedme for her own purposes. I changedschools for a better study of English. Itwas at the new school that I realizedthat she had used and broken me as aperson. For a long time I couldn'tmake friends. Nobody notice me. I feltmyself very lonely and with manydefects. I began to hate my hypocriti-

cal classmates. This attitude I had ledto tense relations with my parents, especially my dad.

In July, 2001, a woman invited meto the Christian "Go Ye" camp. I washappy to change my atmosphere andto have a rest in the fresh air where thecamp is held. I had never heard aboutbelievers before, but my heart felt themto be very kind people.

I forgot to say that my parents arenot believers, but my grandparents areCatholics. So I knew from my child-hood that God had created the world.During the first invitation for salvation

I didn't understand what was goingon, but I felt something had happenedinside of me. I had never cried in pub-lic, but in that moment my tears wereflowing. The confession was comingto an end, some people were bornfrom above and I was standing therethinking: "Yes or no, now or then". Iwas afraid, but Mr. Peter took myhand and asked: "Do you want to besaved and to have an eternal life?" Imade the most important decision inmy life ---.

"Do you wantto be saved"

I felt that God had released mefrom my solitude, my prison. I real-ized that I was a very special personand God loved me. Roger's lectureshelped me to understand my life inChrist. I started to become confidentand to make lots of friends. I neverhave felt so much joy in my heart as atthe camp. My happiness ended whenI went home. My parents weren't gladthat I was a Christian, born fromabove. They would not allow me to goto church. At school, nobody under-stood me, nobody supported my deci-sion. Now I realized it was my firsttest of my faith in God. I didn't over-come my test, I fell down. On springof 2002 I had an opportunity to visit alocal Korean church in my city. I wasso happy to feel the atmosphere againof the “Go Ye” camp. I realized thateven though I had failed God, He hadnot failed me nor deserted me. Now Ihave a lot of friends in Christ. My par-ents are trying to get use to my newlife. They have so many problems andI am not able to persuade then that ifthey would come to God, all theirproblems would be solved and theywould have peace in their hearts. I ampraying for them.

I again got to go to the 2002 Go Yecamp. This time I was praying for sal-vation for those that were like me lastyear, and God answered my prayer.

I want my life to be a witness toothers. I am trying to live everydayfor His glory. I have now entered the

Commercial Academy in Lviv. I donot want to fall down again, but tobelieve that God will help me and Iwill grow in his mercy and grace.

" . . . I beheld Satanas lighting fall fromheaven" (Luke 10:18).

By: Roger Jones

The origin of rebellion startedwith Lucifer (Satan) in heaven. It con-tinued on earth with Adam and Eve inthe Garden of Eden and with Cain

murdering his brother Abel. The rebel-lion that started in heaven climaxeswith God bringing judgment anddestroying the whole earth and every-thing that had breath in it by a flood."But Noah found grace in the eyes of theLord" (Genesis 6:8). After the flood theBible says, "And God blessed Noah andhis sons, and said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth"(Genesis 9:1). It is through Noah'syoungest son Ham, and his descen-dants, that we meet a man namedNimrod. His name means, "Let usrevolt." "And Cush begat Nimrod: hebegan to be a mighty one in the earth. Hewas a mighty hunter before the Lord:wherefore it is said, even as Nimrod themighty hunter before the Lord. And thebeginning of his kingdom was Babel, andErech, and Accad, and Calneh in the landof Shinar" (present day Iraq) (Genesis 10:8-10).

The phrase " a mightyhunter before the Lord,"suggests it was not justwild beasts, but menalso. It is believed that

Nimrod tamed a leopard to accompa-ny him on his hunts, for wild animalsand men. Upon catching them, hewould enslave them and have a tyran-ical hold over them. Some one hun-dred (if there are no gaps) to five hun-dred years after the flood (dependingon which date is correct) with a possi-ble world population of twenty-fivethousand plus to several million peo-ple, man under the leadership of

Nimrod starts building a tower (ziggu-rat) where he could be supreme. "... Let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, and letus make us a name, ... " (Genesis 11:4).

It would be at this tower, with itswalls and ceilings painted with birds,four-footed beasts, and creepingthings (Ref. Romans 1:23), that Nimrod, through demonic intelligence andsatanic power, would take the univer-sal signs of the zodiac and distort theminto astrology, and institute the wor-ship of the host of heaven. It is at thistower and city that God would laughat their efforts (Ref. Psalm 2:1-5). Babelmeans "mixed or confusion." Godwould change the language of theearth to languages and scatter themacross the face of the earth. Followingthe death of Nimrod, this heathen

form of worship was con-tinued by his wife, QueenSemiramis. She claimedthat her husband Nimrodhad become the Sun god,or in his deified form, Baal, and was to be worshipped.

She later conceived through adulteryand gave birth to an illegitimate sonwhom she named Tammuz. Shedeclared he was actually Nimrodreborn, and that he had been supernat-urally conceived. However, eventhough Queen Semiramis claimed tohave given birth to a savior, it was shethat was worshipped, not her son. Shewas worshipped as the mother of thegods. The worship of a divine womanand godchild began long before thevirgin birth of Jesus. This womanappears in different cultures and iscalled by different names, but she isalways the same person: Isis in Egypt,Indraini, Cybelle in Asia, Fortuna (theboy) in Rome, Ceres in Greece, ShingMoo in China, Hertha in Germany,Sisa in Scandanavia, etc. But thiswoman was really Semiramis, theQueen of Babylon. Israel, when it fellinto apostasy, worshipped Ashteroth, who was known to the Jews as the"Queen of Heaven" (Jeremiah 44: 17-19).

The scattered people from thetower of Babel carried the Babylonianreligion to all parts of the globe. Yetthey also carried a faint knowledge ofthe true God and could see evidenceof him. "For the invisible things of himfrom the creation of the world are clearlyseen, being understood by the things thatare made, even his eternal power andGodhead, so that they are withoutexcuse" (Romans 1:20).

Are we not also guilty of building atower in our own life or lifestyle thatwe might have our own way? Do wenot by our actions, have the same spirit

of pride? A place where we want toaccomplish our own purposes? Aplace where, not only did it seem rightto do this, but it felt right? There wasunity and a consensus to establish thisnew way to worship. No longerwould they have to be dependent onthis God that had destroyed the worldby a flood, that demanded a blood sac-rifice, but in this new bond of endeav-or, they could create new gods thatwere less demanding and easier toplease by human means. They could establish their own righteousness thatwould bring glory by fleshly meansand efforts. Are not most of the pro-grams and preaching today to make usfeel good? We have substituted pro-grams and messages of psychologybecause we have conveniently forgot-ten that it is prayer and the Holy Spiritthat brings the anointing and the mindof God. If the church does call forprayer meetings, they often end up asfellowship meetings as it is too hard toseek God. It requires us to concentrateand focus on him rather than whatmakes us feel good. Besides, we haveunity in what we are doing. Does notunity equate to the work of the HolySpirit? However, it should never beunity for its own sake but effective-ness.

Just as Nimrod knew God’s com-

mands, (for he was a contemporary ofprobably Noah and certainly of Shem,Arphaxad, Salah, and Eber), we alsotoday know what the Bible says. Wecan quote the Scriptures, they aremarked in our Bibles. It's not ourorthodoxy that is flawed, but ourorthopraxy. Jesus said, "This peopledraw nigh unto me with their mouth.” Itis not because we don't have knowl-edge of truth; there is more knowledgetoday than ever, but to practice it andbe obedient to God is too demanding. We say prayers without praying.

There is no humility in our formor in our request. Our prayer is forfleshly things rather than spiritual

food. "Labour not for the meat which per-isheth, but for that meat which endurethunto everlasting life… "(John 6:27a).Where is our burden for others?Where is our concern for the body ofChrist that we are part of? "Andwhether one member suffer, all the mem-bers suffer with it, or one member be hon-ored, all the members rejoice with it" (I

Corinthians 12:26). If it does not bringbenefits to "Me" personally, then myattention and concern quickly dimin-ish. Where are the men and womenwho can say, "God said?" Who havesought God in humility and haveheard from heaven. Who say what hasbeen bathed in prayer and ordained bythe Holy Spirit. Instead, we hear thatthere is unity and so it must be fromGod. Unity for the sake of unity isconformity. Is it not better to be divid-ed in truth than united in error?Cannot honest men have honest differ-ences and be willing to pray and seekGod for direction until someone hasheard from heaven and God gives Hisword that shows us "this is His way"for this time? "All scripture is given byinspiration of God, and is profitable fordoctrine, for reproof, for correction, forinstruction in righteousness" (II Timothy

3:16). I am not talking about flippingthrough the Bible to find a scripturethat proves a point, but about theHoly Spirit giving direction throughthe word that brings harmony (notnecessarily unity) in our quest to

HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY TEMPLE OF GOD AND ENJOYING OPTIMUM HEALTH

Page 8-GYMM

By Kim Wickes

Have you heard thesaying that you haveeverything, when youhave your health?

Inversely, when we lose our health, welose something very important, to thepoint of being unable to go andpreach the gospel to anyone. Insteadof going into all the world to teach thegood news of Jesus, it has become thenorm for the American Christian to besick; so going to doctors and gettingdrugs has replaced the going into theworld to preach. The averageAmerican spends his last years ondrugs, which is permitting the devil torob that same money from being usedfor the work of spreading the gospel, not to mention the time and gas spentin such doctor and pharmacy visits! All the while, the side affects of drugsare taking the patient closer to thegrave, as his energy diminishes, mem-ory evaporates, and ability to think, dies. Such has become the acceptedway of life, but is it God's way?

What had God said? Psalm 92:12-15

says, "The righteous shall flourish likethe palm tree; … they shall still bringforth fruit in old age … to show that theLord is upright." Further, keeping thebody in functional condition is part ofsanctification as we live in obedienceto Him whose temple the Christian'sbody is, as seen in 1 Thessalonians 5:23,"And the very God of peace sanctify youwholly: and I pray God your whole spiritand soul and body be preserved blamelessunto the coming of our Lord JesusChrist." In other words, don't let thebody get so sick to the point of BLAM-ING it as the reason for our beingunable to go and tell the gospel. Howoften I hear folks say, "I'm not able" or"I don't have the money or energy togo!'' Is that kind of body a blameless-ly preserved one? We've brought so

much sickness on ourselves by turn-ing away from what God says to do ornot to do. Then we substitute thedesire of our undisciplined ordepraved flesh, and when we becomeso uncomfortable or castaway or dis-able, we pray to God to heal us, stillrefusing to adopt His ordained lifestyle. We must do as Paul in 1

Corinthians 9:27, "I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: least that byany means, when I have preached to oth-ers, I myself should be a castaway." WeChristians say that we believe thewhole Bible; however, many reject thetruth that God's word tells us what toeat or not. We argue that the Bibledoesn't talk about physical exercise, and even joke about being too fat. Isubmit to you that such behaviorangers God, because it shows howmuch of His own words are beingignored by His people. We gliblyquote Psalm 103:2-5. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:“… who healeth all thy diseases; whoredeemeth thy life from destruction:...who satisfieth thy mouth with good things;so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."These promises are spoken by us,

even as we fail to connect them withour life style; our menu disregardsGod's commands, so we are in essenceasking Him to redeem our lives fromdestruction, even though we eat con-trarily to the Bible. Also, we claimthat our youth is renewed like that ofthe eagle, all the while sitting plantedon the sofa, watching TV, instead ofburning energy, as does the eagle whenit flies around. In other words, it is theage old idea of wanting the privilegewithout the responsibility; we want thebenefits but do not do the actions, thatresult in those blessings of God.Unfortunately, that won't work, because of God's ordained law of sow-ing and reaping, or cause and effect. Ifwe want His benefits, we must walk inHis ways and not ignore them. Somany ignore so much of the Bible bysaying that the dietary law is just forthe Jew or just the Old Testament, andthat it is no longer applicable, becauseit was cancelled or done away with byJesus; however, that is a lie from thedevil, who wants to destroy theChristian and the spreading of the sal-vation news. Think now! Americasends more missionaries than does

Page 9: GOYE02 03 PDF - Bedford Printingreligious rites and ceremonial ritu-als, and to conduct religious activi-ty. The Church and religious organizations in Ukraine are sepa-rate from the

Page 9-GYMM

any other nation, and more money formissions is from her than from anyother country on earth; therefore, ifthe devil can deceive the AmericanChristian and keep them preoccupiedwith sickness, then they are ineffec-tive in the spread of the gospel. It hasoccurred to me that the “New Age”folks know how to eat right, whichmatches quite well with that which isin the Bible; Eastern religions andNative Americans generally knowthose truths also. Folks of poor coun-tries end up eating out of the ground, primarily things as rice, potatoes, beans, etc. In fact, even the poor ofAmerica are eating quite healthy, when they eat beans and potatoes, rather than all the processed foodsand so much meat. Jesus said inMatthew 5:17, "Think not that I amcome to destroy the law, or the prophets: Iam not come to destroy, but to fulfill."Since he didn't destroy the OldTestament, but lived by it or fulfilledit, it means that we can't ignore God'swords, all of which are so that it willbe "well with us." What Jesus did onthe cross means that no more sacrifi-cial lamb, goat, dove, bull, grain, etc.type of sacrifice is necessary. Jesus isthe Lamb that takes away the sin ofthe world; thus, He became the Lamb, that was sacrificed for all of us, so wedon't need to kill animals ceremonial-ly for our sin debt. Everything thatJesus did was to fulfill, not beopposed to, the words of God. Hewould have obeyed the dietaryinstructions. Actually, His whole lifestyle is a perfect example for perfecthealth. Let's do a quick study of whatHe would have obeyed.

Since the two things necessary forhealth are always exercise, and propernutrition, let's see what the Bible saysabout them. In Genesis 2:15, we readthat God designed physical work, even in a perfect sinless environment."And the LORD God took the man, andput him into the garden of Eden to dress it

and to keep it." No wonder today'sresearchers are saying that the bestexercise is GARDENING. Once againwe see that whatever God does is for-ever. In gardening one uses manymuscles, pulling weeds, digging theground, pushing things, squatting, stretching, lifting, etc. Of course, walking is required in all this, andJesus's primary mode of transporta-tion was walking.

The Bible encourages the eatingof vegetables. Genesis 1:29 at the timeof creation, God said, "Behold, I havegiven you every herb bearing seed, whichis upon the face of all the earth, and everytree, in the which is the fruit of a treeyielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."This means we are to eat fruit, vegeta-bles, all herbs, and grains which growas tall grass, such as barley, corn, rice, wheat, millet, etc. The less processingor altering from the original state ofthese items, the better. We can'timprove on what God has grown.Brown rice offers us more good thandoes white rice, which has been tam-pered with by humans and the nutri-

ents taking out. Meat wasn't added toour menu until after Noah's flood, aswe read in Genesis. 9:3-4. even then,God said to eat every MOVING thingthat lives, but never eat the blood.Consider this, today's animals areraised not for nutrition, but formoney. They are fed hormones anddrugs, so as to grow large quickly, tobring in more money. As for theirMOVING or being active-forget it.Each chicken has their own assignedcage, so how much moving can theydo? Again, we humans have adulter-ated away from God's design. Do real-ize that we are seeing the eatinginstructions, which are for humans ingeneral, not just for Israel, becauseGod's words of Genesis 1:29 were pre-Mosaic. Abraham served a supper toheavenly guests in Genesis 18:6-8.What was that menu - - home madecakes or bread with fine or good (Notre-fined) meal, fresh calf, milk, andbutter. Notice there is no pork, andthis is before the Mosaic law was givenwhich was 600 years later. The Biblerecounts that there was not one feeble

recounts that there was not one feebleamong the tribes, when Israel leftEgypt in Palms 10:37. Recently, thethought came to me, that one of thereasons for their being in good physi-cal condition was their havingworked so much, moving constantly,as they hunted for straw and stubble, not to mention how hot they got asthey sweated while baking bricks. In1 Samuel 17:17-18, the food that Davidthe teen-ager took to his brothers inthe battle field: parched grain, withten loaves and ten cheeses. A fewyears later in 1 Samuel 25:18, we seethe godly lady, Abigail, offering toDavid two hundred loaves, two bot-tles of wine, five sheep alreadydressed for eating, parched grain, clusters of raisins and figs. Noteagain that pig is not mentioned, because both David’s father Jesse, andhis future wife Abigail would haveknown Leviticus. Jesus would haveeaten the items mentioned above, andwe know what He ate as sugar, because Isaiah 7:15 prophesies thatthe virgin born Messiah would eatbutter and honey. Proverbs 24:13 saysto eat honey and honeycomb. Jesusafter the resurrection ate broiled fishand honeycomb when He appeared tothe disciples in Luke 24:42. In John 6:9,the boy's lunch with which Jesus fedthe multitude was barley loaves andfish; thus, it consisted of what God hadsaid to eat. Leviticus chapter 11 mustbe studied and obeyed. In verse 4,God says not to eat camel, coney, rab-bit, and verse 7 emphasizes that thepig is unclean, and not to be eaten.Verse 9 tells us to eat fish, which has fins

and scales, and we are not to eat thosewhich are without fins and scales. This means that we eat no catfish orany shellfish, as shrimp, lobster, etc.Common sense ought to lead us torealize that such things cannot flushout the dirt, as everything just staysentombed within the shell. You knowhow the shrimp smells! Just imaginethat odor inside our body for days, after we eat it. No wonder we carryso much rotted corroded flesh withinour bodies! Imagine how dirty a panwould be if you kept greasy meat in itfor days and years and leave it in aplace of 98 or 99 degrees. Can youimagine the smell and the rotting?Actually, I believe this is what leads toso much cancer in our day. If the tencommandments are still true for ustoday, then so are these promises ofhealing true, if we obey the Bible.

People use Acts 10:9-15 to say thatunclean things can be eaten because itcancels Leviticus 11; doing away withdietary precepts. Acts 10 is saying thatthe gospel of eternal life will now goalso unto the Gentiles, instead ofexcluding them. While praying and ina trance, Peter saw descending fromheaven to earth a vessel, containing allmanner of beasts, creeping things, and fowls of the air, which he wastold to eat. In verse 14, Peter said, "Ihave never eaten any thing that is com-mon or unclean;” thus, testifying thathe had obeyed Leviticus 11, indeedeven during the years of being withJesus during his earthly ministry.Verse 15 says, "What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common". This direc-tive was given three times, just asJesus three times before his ascensionhad told Peter to feed his lambs.Verse 15 clearly shows that the beastsin the vessel were what God hasCleaned, so these animals can not bereferring to that which God hadalready called as unclean or bad inLeviticus 11, unless God is double

minded or schizophrenic, and ofcourse, He is stable and immutable orunchanging. In verse 28, Peter says toCornelius and company, "Ye know howthat it is an unlawful thing for a man thatis a Jew to keep company, or come untoone of another nation: but God hathshowed me that I should not call any man(not beast) common or unclean." Peterpreached Jesus to the gatheredGentiles, saying in verse 43 that all theprophets (Old Testament) give wit-ness to Him, and that whosoeverbelieves in Him shall receive remis-sion of sins. While Peter was stillspeaking, the Holy Ghost fell on allthe listeners, who were Gentiles, sothat the Jews, who had come withPeter, were astonished, because theHoly Spirit was poured also on theGentiles. Salvation by the faith inJesus had now gone to the Non-Jew.Interestingly, it is from thisCornelius's city, Joppa, that ApostlePaul would later embark on a ship toRome, to which he took the gospelthat would spread to the world. Howshall we today then appropriate God'scommands, in order to enjoy health,so that we can do the great commis-sion? Let me list first some Don'ts,before listing the Do's:

Things Not to Do:

1. Do not increase MEAT consump-tion, especially pork. Isaiah 65: 2-4,God says, "I have spread out my handsall the day unto a rebellious people, whichwalketh in a way that was not good, aftertheir own thoughts; a people that pro-voketh me to anger continually to myface; … which remain among the graves,… which eat flesh, and broth of abom-inable things is in their vessels." The oldsaying is right; we are what we eat.Johns Hopkins study of twenty meatsin order of purity says that pork is46.5 percent fat POISON, while beef is4 percent, and deer is only 3 percent. Now, can you see that the active

moving deer is purer? God sayseleven times in the Bible that the pigis an abomination. Think about allthose demons that went into pigs anddestroyed them. Apparently, demonsfeel at home in unclean environment.

2. MARGARINE, because of hydro-genation, which makes gunky gum-miness in your arteries. Use butterinstead, our total fat in a day shouldonly be two or three tablespoons.Butter was used in the Bible. Thebest oil is olive oil, as in Psalm 104:15,which says oil makes our face shine.Just remember, always choose PLANTlife, directly from the ground, ratherthan animals as food source.

3. Get away from WHITE SUGAR, itis too processed.

4. Drink Pure WATER. It is molecu-larly perfect for digestion; no wonder,it is God designed Don't drink coffee, tea, soft drinks or alcohol, but drink atleast eight glasses of water daily.

5. Eat RAW fruit, rather than cooked, because cooking kills the enzymes sothat you are shortening your life byusing the innate supply of enzymes inyour body.

6. Eat less milk, cheese, and eggs. Ifyou must have milk, use soy, rice orgoats milk, Proverbs 27:27 says, "Thoushall have goats milk enough for thy food."

7. Totally eliminate ARTIFICIALSWEETNERS, which is processed andeven further than white sugar, whichitself is already processed at least sev-enteen times! Aspartame can ruinsome people's brain, so much thatsome airline pilots have had to quittheir work.

Things to Do:

1. Increase consumption of fruit, especially the fresh. After all, that isthe first thing Adam ate in the Gardenof Eden.

2. Eat more VEGETABLES, as theycontain minerals, of which we areshort. The average veggie helping hasonly 25 calories, so we can eat 20 help-ings of vegetables for the 500 calories, which are in some single helping ofmeat.

3. Eat a palm full of nuts and seedsdaily. It will help towards preventingprostate trouble.

4. Eat whole grains. Hippocrates in400 B.C. said that he used barley pasteto treat asthma, infections, sore throat, etc. In eating bread, choose wholegrain, never the white.

If we'll implement the aboveguidelines, we'll turn our sick cellsinto healthy ones by flushing the poi-sons out and by eating nutritiousfoods. Common sense tells us that thecloser to the original condition ofsomething we can intake, the morebenefit will be ours. Psalm 104:14 saysthat God causes the herbs to grow, sothat it can serve us humans, that wemay bring forth out of the earth. Themost nutritious would be if we'd eatraw fruits and raw vegetables rightout of the ground, uncooked.Actually, they have already beencooked by the sun, washed by the rain, tempered by natural breeze, as Godgave that which is good, to cause theearth to yield its increase. Just remem-ber, that whatever we humans do toanything is not to improve it but sub-traction or ruination.

As for exercising to removethings that ought to be removed fromus, take walks if possible. The author

of this article is totally blind, livingalone as a single female. I've figuredout other ways of exercising, becausewalking alone isn't recommended. One inexpensive, and very good exer-cise equipment is the mini-trampolineor the rebounder, which I bought atWalmart for $15. Jumping gently foronly five or six minutes daily wouldaid much in keeping our lymph sys-tem clean, so that cancer and otherdegenerative diseases wouldn't lodgeand develop in our body, which is,after all, the home of the Holy Spirit ofGod. Let's obey God's commandsabout caring for our bodies, so that wecan be vibrant laborers in His vine-yard until He comes. Walk in all Hisways, remembering He said in Psalm

85:8b "Let them not turn again to folly."Don't let the devil win by deceiving usto think that moderation of everythingis okay. If God calls something anabomination, we shouldn't use mod-eration to negate it! Let's obey Him,instead of making excuses, so that Hecan preserve us blamelessly! God'swill is that we be strong in Him, asshown in Psalm 68:28. "Thy God hathcommanded thy strength." Note that Hedid not command our WEAKNESS.You may be saying that you are free tochoose what you eat, or do. Neverforget that you are certainly not freefrom consequences. Of course, for ajungle missionary without choice oravailability of food, the situation isunderstandably different, and in thatcase, God will fulfill His promise ofMark 16:18 and protect the missionarysupernaturally. I'm speaking aboutthose of us, who willfully ignoreGod's dietary instructions by prefer-ring the unhealthy desire of thedepraved appetite. If you want tohead northward, turn around fromtraveling southward. Prov.14:27 tellsus. "The fear of the Lord is a fountain oflife, to depart from the snares of death."Let's live in that holy fear, so thatwe'll thrive in Him, whose word isthe fountain of life!

know and do His will. God abhors ourreligious pretex. God rebuked Israelfor keeping the external requirementsof the law while disregarding a heartrelationship with Him. The outwardrequirements of the law were mean-ingless without an inward relationshipwith the living God (Ref. Isaiah 1:13-14;

Amos 5:21). It is our very nature to trust

in our own righteousness. As long aswe keep all the outward laws that wehave made, there's a sense of pride, ofaccomplishment; we are the "stan-dard" by which to measure others. TheApostle Paul said these very words, describing himself: "…Touching therighteousness which is in the law, blame-

less," (Philippians 3:16). We mustrenounce these things as Paul did. They are stones in our tower that area direct offense to God. "… and docount them but dung, that I may winChrist, and be found in him, not havingmine own righteousness, which is of thelaw, but that which is through the faith ofChrist, the righteousness which is of Godby faith" (Philippians 3:8b, 9). O dearfriend, are you trusting in "anything"other than "His righteousness?" Justhours before Jesus was betrayed as hesat with his disciples at the Passovermeal, they concluded the "Seder" withthe latter half of the "Hallel" (Psalm 115-

118). How could Jesus sing thesewords and rejoice, knowing that hewas only hours from fulfilling them?He would be crucified and die a hor-rible death. The innocent for theguilty, the humble for the proud, theincorruptible for the corruptible, theeternal for the temporal. "… but byhis own blood he entered in once into theholy place, having obtained eternalredemption for us" (Hebrews 9:12b).

Any of our righteousness thatsupplants his righteousness, we mustrenounce and repent, and look to Him"…the author and finisher of our faith,…" (Hebrews 12:2). We cannot add to ortake away from his finished work ofgrace. "For by grace are you savedthrough faith, and that not of yourselves:it is the gift of God", (Ephesians 2:8). Notonly did his precious blood cleanse us,but it also was taken to the heavenlyaltar to cleanse heaven where sin orig-inated. "It was therefore necessary that

the patterns of things in theheavens should be purifiedwith these, but the heavenlythings themselves with bettersacrifices than these"(Hebrews 9:23). Let us notadd more bricks to ourtower. Bricks of self-importance, egoism, ego-tism, vanity, conceit, self-love, self-glorification,vainglory, immodesty, smugness, self-satisfaction,

pomp, pretension, arrogance, haughti-ness, I, me, mine, etc. Let us "…repent, and do the first works; …" (Revelation 2:5)

and renounce "…the hidden things ofdishonesty," (II Corinthians 4:2).

Dear friend, I speak to myselfbefore I write this to you. I know whatit is to substitute my righteousness forhis righteousness; my works for thework of the Holy Spirit. It is not diffi-cult to do or to justify. I know what it isto not forgive, to allow rebellion and sinto take a strong hold in my life, to wantmy way more than God's way, to allowpride that seat of authority that belongsonly to God. He requires all, or Heremoves himself allowing us to buildour own tower. This spirit of rebellion, this "mystery of iniquity" ( II Thessalonians

2:7) that has permeated the world willend at the "end of the age." "And upon herforehead was a name written, MYSTERY,BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHEROF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONSOF THE EARTH" (Revelation 17:5).

Europe’s New CurrencyThe EURO, Europe’s new currency as of January 2002. There aretwelve countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany,Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, andPortugal gave up their national currency for the EURO.

What are some of the pros and cons for a single currency.

PROS:It eliminates converting one currency into another that will benefit businesses as well as tourists.

It creates one of the strongest currencies in the world, along with the US Dollar and the JapaneseYen. It will bring fiscal discipline to participating countries.

CONS:An individual country that increases its debt will raise interest rates in all other countries.

In a recession, a country can no longer stimulate its economy by devaluing its currency andincreasing exports. A country gives up a great deal of its sovereignty.

The Greatest MathMiracle in the World!

Taken from an article in The Georgian Gideon, Feb/March 2000

and reprinted in the Tar Heel Gideon 2002

Moses and the people were inthe desert, but what was he goingto do with them? They had to befed, and feeding 2 or 3 million peo-ple requires a lot of food.According to the QuartermasterGeneral in the Army, it is reportedthat Moses would have to have1,500 tons of food each day. Doyou know that to bring that muchfood each day, two freight trains, each a mile long, would berequired?

Besides, you must remember theywere out in the desert, and theywould have to have f irewood touse in cooking the food. Thiswould take 4,000 tons of wood anda few more freight trains, each amile long, just for one day.

And just think, they were forty yearsin transit. Oh, yes they would have tohave water. If they only had enoughto drink and wash a few dishes, itwould take 11 million gallons eachday, and a freight train with tank cars1,800 miles long just to bring water!

And then another thing: they hadto get across the Red Sea in onenight. If they went on a narrow path, double f ile, the line would be 800miles long and would require 35 daysand nights to get through. So, therehad to be a space in the Red Seathree miles wide so that they couldwalk 5,000 abreast to get over in onenight.

But then another problem: eachtime they camped at the end of theday, a campground two-thirds thesize of the state of Rhode Islandwas required, or a total of 750square miles long. Think of it! Thisspace just for nightly camping.

Do you think Moses f igured all thisout before he lef t Egypt? I think not!You see, Moses believed in God.God took care of these things forhim. Now, do you think God has anyproblem taking care of all yourneeds?

Tradition ---- “ You make the wordof God of none effect through your tradi-tion, which you have delivered, and manysuch like things you do.“ Mark 7:13
