Introduction:
Department of Biochemistry is a para-clinical department involved in teaching medical students and catering laboratory services to the patients.
In Medical college Biochemistry teachers teach undergraduate students of first yeat M.B.B.S.,B.D.S.,B.Sc.Nursing and B.P.M.T. Postgtaduate students of M.D.Biochemistry., and Ph.D.(Medical Biochemistry are trained and guided in the department.
This department caters Biochemistry diagnostic services to the patients in routine as well as emergency laboratory.
Mission:
1. To provide quality education to undergraduate and postgraduate students of various courses of medical colleges.
2. To provide quality biochemistry diagnostic services to the patients.
Vision:
1. To establish tertiary level laboratory at regional level. 2. To start specialized courses and fellowships in different areas of
Biochemistry. 3. To establish specialized laboratory for hormones, tumor markers, bone
markers, cardiac markers. 4. To establish clinical biochemistry research laboratory. 5. To establish medical genetics and clinical nutrition laboratory.

Functions and objectives:
1. To teach undergraduate and postgraduate students of M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.Sc.Nursing, B.P.M.T., M.D., D.M.L.T. and guide Ph.D.Students.
2. Training to the students of above courses.
3. To cater laboratory services to the patients. Routine paramenters blood sugar, Kideney and liver function tests, lipid profile are done routinely and in emergency labouratory.
4. Biochemistry Department provides 24 Hrs Lab.services in emergency laboratory.
