What are the 3 government systems?

•Unitary

•Federal

•Confederation

Unitary

• A form of government in which ALL the power is held by ONE central authority

• Power is NOT shared between states, countries, or provinces

• Examples: Saudi Arabia

Unitary

ALL the power is at the TOP!

confederation

• Voluntary association of independent states

• They come together for a common purpose and form their own power

• Together they may have more power than the actual government

• Examples: None in the Middle East

confederation

The power is at the bottom!

Federal

• The power is shared and divided• A central government and regional

authorities usually share and divide this power

• Examples: Iraq
