2. Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards Rules, 1999(Under Factories Act, 1948)

Applicability: (i) If chemical exceeds threshold limits in Schedule-I(ii) If chemical is listed in Schedule-II & III(iii) 432 Chemicals covered.

Obligations: (i) Occupier to prepare Safety Report & submit toDIHS (Once in a year)

(ii) Occupier to get done Safety Auditinternally– (Once in a year),externally– (Once in two years) [by CompetentAgencies]

(iii) Preparation of On-site Emergency Plan – byoccupier & approval by DIHS

(iv) Mock Drill: Once in every 6 months (Rule 13).(v) Information to be given to persons likely to be

affected by a major accident (Rule 14)(vi) Notice of major accident by occupier to DIHS

(Rule 6)
