REFORMS
• Academic Reforms:
– Adoption of semester System, Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) pattern and
Grading System are some of the reforms that are introduced in Andhra
Pradesh in all UG and PG courses of all Colleges and Universities.
– Compulsory introduction of Communication and Soft Skills in one semester (to
begin with) is another reform introduced.
– TISS PARALLEL DEGREE PROGRAMME: The Government of Andhra Pradesh has
signed an MoU with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to implement
the programme. This programme will be carried out through JKC across the
State and it is treated as a parallel Degree Programme along with the regular
Bachelor’s Degree. It plays a significant role in providing opportunities for
students to develop employability skills.
• Governance Reforms:
– Biometric attendance: In order to streamline the attendance and make students punctual, Government has introduced Biometric system for all students in Colleges.
– Automation:
– Online Common Entrance Examinations
• Affiliation Reforms: – Reducing the Jurisdiction of existing Universities to Optimum capacity.
– Jurisdiction of 3 Universities has been reduced .
– APSCHE has constituted a committee to examine the University affiliation fees being paid by the Colleges.
• Accreditation Reforms: – APSCHE has constituted a committee to formulate guidelines for establishing
Andhra Pradesh State Accreditation Council. The Committee submitted the report and the establishment of APSAAC is under process.
– 6 out the 16 universities are NAAC accredited
• Examination Reforms:
– ONLINE ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS – As a part of its initiative to go digital,
Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to conduct all its Common
Entrance Examinations like Engineering, Medicine, Law, Management,
Polytechnic etc through online.
– Every year respective Board of Studies of the Universities in the State are
reviewing the question paper model and resolving to make the question
paper more credible.
– APSCHE is encouraging the State Universities to conduct one internal
examination in each semester through online.
– Introduction of automation of examination work - automation of answer
scripts has commenced in JNTU (K) on pilot basis.
Activities conducted under RUSA
74 workshops/trainings/seminars have been conducted in the year 2015-16 and 2016 17 under the broad themes mentioned below.
• Workshops on Capacity Building/Management development programmes of Administrators in Higher Educational Institutions.
• Createing awareness on A.P. Knowledge Mission, MOOCS, CBCS, Question banks, and automation of examination work.
• Workshops on Ability and Skill Enhancement Courses and quality improvements in Higher Educational Institutions.
• Workshops on CSR funding opportunities evolving strategies for raising CSR funding.
• Workshops on “Digital/E-learning” for the Faculty of Public Universities .
• Workshop on English Language Specliast Programme in Collaboration with US State Department.
• Workshops on Increasing Enrolments and Geotagging.
• Workshop on Public Finance Management System.
• Academic Audit Review Workshops

• Meeting with the SKAB Board members and Executive members to review the progress made towards reaching the vision of transforming A.P into Knowledge Society.
