The Category of Ex-Service at Colum (11), if a qualified and suitable candidate is not available from Ex-service person the turn allotted to Ex-servicemen/Women shall be deemed to be allotted to open competition. 2. 2. Forest Section Officer (FSO) Educational Qualification: Must process a Bachelor's Degree in Botany or Forestry or Horticulture or Zoology or Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics or Statistics or Geology or Agriculture as a subject or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering of any Universities of India, established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, State Act or Provincial Act or an Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission or an equivalent qualification.
Forest Beat Officer (Forest Beat Officer) Educational Qualification: Must have passed Intermediate examination or its equivalent.
Assistant Beat Officer (ABO), Thanadar, Bungalow watcher, Plantation watcher Educational Qualification: Must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent.
3. Pay Scales

4. Physical Requirements a. Height :

84 Cms (Male) 79 Cms (Female) c. Must have a chest expansion of not less than 5 Cms of full inspiration. d. Relaxable of 5 Cms height in ST candidates. e. Physically handicapped candidates not eligible. f. Normal eyesight.
5. Age: The age of the applicant should be between 18 years to 30 years age as on 01.07.2012. (In case of SC / ST / BC maximum age limit shall be 35 years). 6. Selection Procedure for FSO / FBO / ABO / Thanadar / Plantation watcher / Bungalow watcher:
First step: Written test consisting of following three papers.
Paper-I: Essay writing in English or Telugu or Urdu. One hour duration, maximum marks of 20.
Paper-II: General knowledge. One and half hour duration and maximum marks of 100. Paper-III: General Mathematics. One and half hour duration and maximum marks of 100. A minimum of 35% of marks in each paper, with an aggregate of 40% in total is required to
qualify for the second step. The candidates can write the written examination either in Telugu or in English or in Urdu.
However, the question paper shall be in Telugu and English only. Candidates who qualify in written examination are selected at 1:2 Ratio for the walking test.
Second step: The candidates selected in the First step shall be subjected to the test of walking. For Male candidates, a 25 km walking and Women candidates, a 16 km is to be completed in 4 hours duration.
The walking test shall not carry any marks, and is treated as a qualifying test. The final selection shall be done from among the persons who have qualified in walking test
based on the total marks secured in written examination duly observing roster points and the bonus marks wherever applicable.
The standards of paper for written examination shall be equivalent to the standards which is shown under minimum qualification at (6) above for all the categories of posts.
7. General instructions for filling of Applications: a. Candidates applying for any of the post should apply to concerned officer mentioned at
Column No (13) above on or before 23-04-2012 in the prescribed format given in the

advertisement. In case of applicant desiring to apply another category or the same Post in another District he/she has to apply separately for the post.
b. While submitting the application, the applicant should enclose, Community, Nativity, Date of birth certificate, School certificate / Residence certificate, (for the claim of local candidate) and a certificate regarding their exclusion from the creamy layer (for the candidate belonging to the Backward Classes) issued from the competent authority.
c. Any application which is not filled completely or without required documents will not be accepted by the concerned DFO, Hence candidates are advised to fill the application form carefully. After receipt of the application the candidates will be intimated by the concerned DFO regarding verification of application (regarding AGE, RESERVATION, NATIONALITY) and Physical measurement. The Applicant fulfilling all required eligibility conditions & physical requirement only shall be called for written exam.
d. The concerned DFO will intimate the candidates about the date and venue of written
examination by providing them Hall ticket after the verification of application and physical measurements. The written examination will be on the subjects as per details given in para 6 above, however the examination for the General Knowledge and Mathematics for all the posts shall be multiple choice objective type by use of OMR sheet.
8. OTHER INSTRUCTIONS
1. The rule of reservation to local candidates is applicable and the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (OLC&RDR) Order (Presidential Order) 1975 and amendments there to shall be followed strictly.
2. The rule of special representation in the matter of appointment of candidates belonging to
Scheduled Casts, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Ex-service Men and Women is applicable as per the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules 1996 as amended from time to time.
3. Local Scheduled Tribes candidates shall only be considered for selection and appointment
against the vacancies in Scheduled Areas.
4. The number of candidates selected shall not be more than the number of vacancies notified. There shall be no waiting list and posts of any unfilled for any reason whatsoever shall be carried forward for future recruitment.
5. After due verification of the originals of all relevant certificates, selection of the candidates for
the above Posts in the Forest Department shall be made together as per the roster of each unit of appointment and selected candidates shall exercise their option as per roster cum merit.
6. The Selection of the candidates will be made by the Selection Committee consist of
Territorial Conservator of Forests, as Chairman, concerned Divisional Forest Officer as Member Convenor and one of member nominated by the District Collector. The committee shall approve the selection list prepared as per rule which shall be displayed on the Notice Board at O/o concerned Divisional Forest Officers and concerned Conservator of Forests.
7. Candidates possessing NCC Certificates (A B & C) shall be given bonus marks as per rule.

Instructions to Candidates
(To be supplied to candidates at the time of issue of Hall Ticket along with sample copy of OMR sheet)
Following instructions are issued to the candidates intending to appear for the
written examination in connection with the selection to the posts of Forest Section
Officer, Forest Beat Officer, Assist Forest Beat Officer, Thanadar, Bungalow watcher,
Plantation watcher and Draughtsman Grade-II. The candidates are requested to go
through the instructions for observance.
1. The candidates appearing for the selection to the posts of Forest Section Officer /
Forest Beat Officer / Assistant Beat Officer / Thanadar/ Bungalow watcher /
Plantation watcher will have to attend written examinations consisting of three
papers 1) Essay writing duration 60 Minutes and 20 marks 2) General Knowledge
duration 90 Minutes and 100 marks and 3) General Mathematics duration 90
Minutes and 100 marks.
2. In essay writing paper, one out of three choices given will have to be attended.
3. The General Knowledge and Mathematics paper will be of multiple choice
objective type by using OMR sheet.
4. The OMR sample sheet is enclosed herewith.
5. OMR SHEET is to be filled with only using black ball point pen (no pencil) and
while filling the details by the candidates the OMR sheet should not be spoiled
either by putting signature beyond the space provided or by making corrections /
cuttings / mutilation / folding etc., or putting wrong code failing which the
candidature of the applicant will be rejected.
6. The candidates will have to report to the exam center 30 minutes before the
actual exam time. This time will be utilized by the invigilators to explain the
method and precautions to be taken while filling OMR sheet by the candidates.
7. The OMR sheets should be filled by the candidates 15 minutes before the
examination.
8. The candidates appearing for Draughtsman Grade-II exam will have to bring
their drawing and related instruments like protractor / set square/ scale/ pencil
etc., with them. The department will not provide any such item to the
candidates. However, the candidates will be provided with graph sheet, if
required.
9. The pattern of questions for DM Civil grade, GK and Maths will be of following
type.

- DM –Civil Grade
i. Part-A: Out of (6) questions given candidates have to answer 4
questions. One of the questions may be a compulsory questions.
Each question carry 20 Marks.
ii. Part-B: Consist of 20 fill in the blanks types questions carrying
ONE mark each.
General Knowledge in all (50) multiple choice questions are given carry
ONE mark each.
Mathematic (DM Grade II) Consists of 30 questions – first (15) questions
carry (1) mark, next (10) questions carry (2) marks each. The last (5) questions
carry (3) marks each. Total – 50 Marks.
FSO/FBO/ABO/Thanadar/Bungalow watcher & Plantation watcher.
General Knowledge in all (50) multiple choice questions carry in TWO
marks each. Total Marks 100.
Mathematics – The Maths paper consisting of 55 questions of multiple
choice. The first (20) questions carry ONE mark each. The next (25)
questions carry TWO marks each and the last (10) questions carry THREE
marks each. Total 100 Marks.
Syllabus
- For DM Grade II; DM- Civil Trade syllabus for the (3) hours paper and up-
to 10th Class State Syllabus for Mathematics.
- For Forest Section Officers: Up-to 10th Class State syllabus in
Mathematics.
- For Forest Beat Officers: Up-to 9th Class State syllabus in Mathematics
- For Assistant Forest Beat Officers/Thanadar/Plantation watcher/Bungalow
watcher: Up-to 8th Class syllabus in Mathematics.

Qualifying mark for selection in written examination:
A candidate needs to get at least 35% marks in each of the subjects and 40%
aggregate in the written examination, in order to qualify for the next stage of the
selection i.e., for walking test. Here it is clarified that the second paper of the written
examination consists of General Knowledge and General Mathematics and it is
necessary to obtain at least 35% marks in each of these i.e., in General Knowledge and
General Mathematics in addition to getting at least 35% marks in essay writing paper.
An aggregate of 40% marks is to be obtained in all the papers put together in order to
qualify in the written examination.
The question papers are set in both Telugu and English languages except for
Draughtsman Gr-II Civil paper. However, the candidates can answer the papers in Urdu
(as regard essay) also if they desire. (Only if the candidates have indicated in the
application form that they are going to write the exam in Urdu).
