While touring the area, take a moment to admire our clas-sic courthouse in the heart of town. Walk past the unique

“police booth” onthe corner, used toprotect the townfrom bank robbersin the late 1930s.Our CarnegieLibrary was the first

of its kind in Indiana and now houses the City Offices.Feel free to enter and explore this historic building.

In 1983, the downtown Historic District was placed onthe National Register of Historic Places. Many residentialstreets are lined with stately maple trees, giving Goshenthe nickname The Maple City. These great maples givelush shade in summer and create a spectacular show ofcolor in autumn.
