Gorse is a delightful 45ft traditional stern narrowboat built and fitted out in 1986 by the well respected Colecraft Boat Builders. She has been in the current owner’s hands since 2007 and in that time has received plenty of love and attention. She is a very comfortable and homely boat and provides far more storage and living space than you might expect on a boat of her length. The well deck is a very spacious 5ft 2in and contains cushioned bench seats and a table. Opening into the saloon this provides a lovely social space. The saloon contains an Aarow multi fuel stove, a bench seat with storage under, a folding table and chairs and the 24in TV. Next comes the light and airy galley with a 4 burner hob, oven and grill, stainless steel sink and draining board and 12v Beko fridge (with ice box). Plenty of shelves and cupboards are also provided. The bathroom is an off corridor arrangement containing a shower in a good size cubicle (with curtain), a stylish rectangular ceramic basin over a vanity unit and the pump out loo. There is also a useful floor to ceiling bank of shelving. The fixed double (6ft 2in x 4ft) sits in the stern cabin along with a single wardrobe. There are cupboards over the bed and two good size drawers under. Steps lead into the engine room with the Thorneycraft 1.5 sitting under the deck boards. Heating to the two radiators and towel rail and hot water all comes from the Alde gas boiler, there are 4 batteries (all new in 2017) and a 600w inverter. Super boat.
