You Should Totally Care About This.

What are Google Tags? I’m glad you asked, Bryan.

• Tags are tiny bits of website code that let you measure traffic and visitor behavior, understand the impact of online advertising and social channels, use remarketing and audience targeting, test and improve your site, and more.

• Simply: You can replace the Analytics, Adwords, or another search advertising code with just this one code.

• Adding tags without efficient management prompts big problems. All that code bogs down your site. Redundant or incorrectly applied tags can distort your measurement and result in duplicate costs or missing data. With Google Tag Manager, you eliminate these problems—and run your campaigns when you need them.

Why does this matter?Good question, Hector.

• It allows to bring ultimate tracking functionality to each site with Google’s tag firing feature.

• It allows us to no longer be relegated to contact Peru to make code changes. One code – One time.

• Event Handlers – using Google tag we can track site events like button clicks or anything else.

Get down the Tags are Firing!Get to the chopper!

• Tag firing is simple. You set your tag to fire when it meets a certain goal on the site.

• Example: For analytics – You simply set it to fire when anyone lands on any page.

Next Steps!

• Added and tested 5 tag managers on sites like Quatela and Clevens.

• Begin the process of transitioning every site to the tag.

• No longer needing Peru for our analytics needs and going forward adding them to sites as one of our very first steps.
