KJHS Athletics - Addison Orr

Addison competed at the IESA Sectional Golf Tournament on Wednesday, September 4. She finished tied for 8th and qualified for IESA State.

On Saturday, September 14 she competed at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria and finished in the top 20 (out of 97 golfers)!!

More importantly, she finished #5 for all 6th and 7th graders. With the exception of 4, everyone above her on the leaderboard was an 8th grader.

Class Accomplishments● The Leadership class have six pretty

ambitious projects in the works for this fall. This class also started going to MWES today to partner with Mrs. Smith's kindergarten pull out students. The foods classes made play-dough for MWES that was also delivered today.

● The Power class is doing the parking lot. Cleaning and seal to save the school district lots of money and students learn how to fill and seal.

The juniors are off to a great start in their English classes. They are pleasant and are responding well to the material. We are reading and discussing strong selections by Thoreau, Dickinson, Whitman, and Hawthorne. Students are building their SAT vocabulary words and practicing concise writing to literary prompts.

Extracurricular Activities

● The Marching Bullets marched in the Galesburg Labor Day Parade and the Warren County Prime Beef Festival Parade Sept. 4th, where they received 2nd place.
