Bianka Marte-Perez (DRC) was elected as Latino Student Council Female Co-Chair.
She will be working with Professor Yolanda Martinez-San Miguel in the during the
2014-1015 year as a Research Assistant on the topic “Overseas Archipelagos: Rethinking
Caribbean and Colonial Studies.” She is also a CLASP intern with the Institute for
Women's Leadership and interned at the AMARD&V Camp.
Dilruba Rahman (DRC) has a Fall 2014 HR internship with Medical Diagnostic
Laboratories, LLC.
Mercedez Ruiz and her family were profiled in a news article in Time. The article
addresses different issues related to immigration in the United States. Mercedez' family,

Wendy Flores (DRC) is conducting an Aresty research project, with Dr. Troy Roepke.
Her project is focused on hypothalamic gene expression in female mice exposed to
environmental estrogens during development. She will be presenting this research in the
Aresty Research Symposium in the spring semester.
Reginald (Reggie) Gaines is the recipient of the Duncan & Nancy Macmillan
Scholarship, the Elmer R. Deaver Foundation Scholarship, and the Emma Twyman
Memorial Scholarship.
Mario Garcia SAS ’14 was hired as a Teacher Apprentice at the Leadership Prep
Bedford Stuyvesant Charter School in Brooklyn, NY.
Yauris Hernandez (DRC) is an exchange student this semester at California State
Northridge.
Richard Hutchinson SAS ’12 was one of 25 men, under 25 years old, selected to attend
the 25 under 25 Speak Out Youth Ambassadors Workshop in Washington, DC. He was
selected to be an official ambassador of the Greater Than AIDS National Speak Out
about HIV campaign.

Katelyn Realpe (DRC) is part of “Open Minds United,” a Youth Act project of Easter
Seals. She is involved with helping to establish a volunteer youth mentoring network,
designed to help New Brunswick high school students with disabilities, transition into
college.

the Rutgers Global Brigades, to help provide healthcare to communities that have limited
access to it.

Oumou Keita (DRC) is interning at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in the
Trauma and Injury Prevention Department.
Camila Marte will travel to Germany for a study abroad opportunity, May 24-June 20.
Anita Omambia (DRC) did a Spring Break externship in injury prevention, with the
New Jersey Trauma Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Inc.’s top 50 Announcement Event on Wall Street, on April 23rd
. She will be interviewed
by a MSNBC news anchor on stage.
Dolly Hilario was accepted into the New York University School of Social Work.
Kason Jackson will be conducting the Rutgers Alma Mater at the Mason Gross School
of the Arts commencement.
Samantha Martin was accepted into Teach for America. Her teaching assignment is in
Houston, Texas.
Rosslin Mensah-Boateng (DRC) and Christopher Rubi conducted an excellent
presentation for Politics and Possibilities XX. This was the culmination of their
participation on a field trip to Washington, DC with the project during Spring Break.

Colonel Clyde Richards, Jr., RC ’89, hosted 14 Rutgers students and staff at the
Pentagon, providing an overview, tour, and an in-depth presentation about issues facing
our current military units. The students left in awe of Col Richards and the grandeur of
the Pentagon. This presentation was part of the 2015 Politics and Possibilities XX project
coordinated by Dr. Angela Moody Robinson, SAS EOF Senior Counselor.
Monica Torres (DRC) is the recipient of the 2015 Zulima V. Farber Scholarship for
Outstanding Leadership from the Young Latina Leadership Scholarship Fund.

Student.
Oumou Keita (DRC) is the recipient of the C. Maxene Vaughters-Summey Prize,
created in honor of the first director of the Douglass College EOF Program, Dean
Maxene Vaughters-Summey.
Joseph Mankowski has been hired as a Youth Activities Counselor by Disney Cruise
Lines. He’ll sail away after graduating this May.
Cherise Mohammed was interviewed for, and chosen to be, a Teaching Assistant for the
course Work, Society and the Quality of Life in Fall 2015.
Karen Quach has secured a six month HR internship with Colgate-Palmolive in
Piscataway, New Jersey.
Ismelisa Rivas is the Public Relations Chair of the Sociedad Estudiantil Dominicana.
Shyrley Rodriguez has been picked-up by the Innovative Artists agency. This agency
will help her obtain film and television roles.
Jerry Sanchez has been signed with the Abrams Artist Agency. This agency is for voice
overs, commercials, and their youth division for acting.

will be interning in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic at the Observatory of
Caribbean Migration, and she will be studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa,
taking a 2-credit course on Gender & Sexuality in South Africa.
Anastasia Groce (DRC) has a paid summer internship with the Geena Davis Institute on
Gender in Media.
Miguel Lopez, a Mason Gross School of the Arts technical director major, will be the
Assistant Technical Director at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theater, in Arrow Rock,
Missouri, this summer.

specialist, working with children with disabilities.
