NO MATTER WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD,
THERE IS ALWAYS GOOD NEWS TODAY
A Busy Year Ahead!
November. During our time in South-
east Asia, we plan to go to Malaysia,
to revisit the brethren with whom we
worked in the mid-1980’s and to
preach in at least one gospel meeting.
Besides our speaking during the Four
Seas lectures, I may have the oppor-
tunity to preach in a gospel meeting
with one of the faithful churches in
Singapore. It will have been thirty
years almost to the day since our fam-
ily left Malaysia as our place of resi-
dence.
The Four Seas Lectureship is a
tremendous opportunity to be with
brethren from all parts of Southeast
Asia—Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand,
and elsewhere. Sermons preached and
Janis’ lessons to the ladies will be
taken and shared throughout that part
of the world. This, too, will be an op-
portunity for us to promote Good
News Today’s presence on the inter-
net.
2017 is promising to be a very
busy year, as we anticipate much
activity and progress. The fine elders
of the Dunlap church, who oversee
Good News Today, have purchased a
large tract of land for future build-
ing—the site of the former Sequat-
chie County High School football
field. The old stadium on the proper-
ty will be renovated for use as an
annex building for benevolence,
youth activities, and church get-
togethers. The building will include
an apartment for visiting missionar-
ies and guest preachers AND the
new office and studio space for
Good News Today. We are very ex-
cited about this project, because
funds that are now paying rent may
be redirected for other needs.
Also, my wife and I have been
invited to speak at the Four Seas
College Lectureship in Singapore in
If you would like to help with this
endeavor, you may send contributions
to the Good News Today address, ear-
marked “Mission Trip.” However, we
do ask that you, please, do not take any
current assistance away from our ongo-
ing broadcasting work.
Thanks so much—Jim.
