Getting Started:

Downloading the GolfLogix Application

The GolfLogix application can be downloaded to your Android OS Smartphone three different ways, each having the

same end result.

2) Visit our website at

www.golfgps.com , select your

Smartphone Manufacturer on the

left side of the screen, and select

your Smartphone model.

You will have two download

options to choose from…

1) Open the Marketplace app on your phone and search for ‘GolfLogix’. The Marketplace should automatically

detect what phone you have and download the correct app for you. The GolfLogix application is only on a select

Android OS Smartphone’s. (Important: If you have a Motorola Backflip, you can only download the

application from the Marketplace app.)

Optimal Settings

Battery Life: To optimize the battery-life on your Android OS Smartphone using the GolfLogix GPS application on the

course:

1. IMPORTANT: Adjust your screen brightness to less than 50%.

Press the Application tab on your Android and then select ‘Settings’. Next, select the ‘Sound/Display’ option,

and then scroll down to the ‘Brightness’ option.

Select ‘Brightness’, uncheck ‘Automatic brightness’ and scroll down to at least 50%, once you have selected your desired

backlight setting press the ‘OK’.

Battery Life: To optimize the battery life on your Android OS Smartphone while using the GolfLogix GPS application on the

Satellites’ is checked marked as ON and ‘Use Wireless Networks’ is unchecked.

View Demo – Shows demonstration screens of the different features the

application has available.

Play Golf – Proceeds to either the Registration options (if the application was

just installed & has no membership associated with the phone) or the ‘Search

for My Course’ screen (if membership has been established).

The starting screen will always appear when the application first opens up.

Welcome To GolfLogix:

Registration Screen

Sign Up as Free Member – Establishes the free lifetime Club Membership which

has access to the following features: 4 Player scorecard, aerial view of each hole

(if applicable) and the ability to track your score-stats. The first 24 hours under

the free Club Membership grants access to all Champion Member features.

Champion Membership is an annual $39.95 with all of the Club Member features

plus GPS yardage readings & the ability to measure your shot and log your club.

Champion Member features will no longer be available after the 24 hour trial.

24 hour Champion expiration

After the 24 hour trial ends (this screen only comes up after 24 hours has passed from when a

course was downloaded), there will be a screen asking if you’d like to ‘Continue as a Club

Member’ or ‘Become a Champion Member’.

Continuing as a Club Member will only have access to the 4 player scorecard, aerial imagery,

and stat tracking. If you choose to become a champion member and pay the annual $39.95,

you will have full access to all features of the GolfLogix application which include GPS

yardage readings, measuring your shot, logging your club and all of the Club Member

features.

Activating Membership

Become a Champion Member – Visit Golfgps.com to sign up as a Champion

Member. Once you’ve signed up you will receive a member code either from the

membership confirmation page or an email confirmation. Select this option if

you have the Member Code. Enter the Member code and press ‘Tee it Up’ to

activate your Champion Membership on the phone.

The Member Code can

only be used once to

associate your Champion

membership to the

Smartphone. If you get a

new/replacement

Smartphone that is

supported by the

GolfLogix application and

wish to transfer your

membership, please see

page 13 or page 33 & 34

Transferring Membership

Transfer Membership – This option is for when you wish to transfer your

membership from one supported Smartphone to a new/replacement supported

Android OS Smartphone. The membership can only be associated to one

Smartphone.

To transfer the membership, you will need

your username/email address and password.

There is also a limit of three times you can

transfer the membership on your own. If you

exceed the limit, you’ll need to contact

GolfLogix Customer Support.

Play Golf:

Search for My Course

Course Selection - The GolfLogix application gives you immediate wireless

access to more than 25,000+ golf courses mapped around the world so there

isn’t any syncing or loading with a computer. (Please note: You will need an

active data plan through your cell phone provider to download courses.)

There are two ways to search for a golf course, either by your current location or

an optimized search through our entire golf course list.

My Current Location - This option will show you the closest courses sorted by

your current location. Select a course from the list to download and start

playing golf.

Course List - This option will allow you to sort through the entire GolfLogix

database of golf courses. Select a Country, then a State/Province, then

look at all of the golf courses in a City or type in course names to filter the

results. Select a course from the final list to download and start playing

golf.

Round Setup

Once you select your course and choose what hole you’ll be starting at, the next

screen will be the ‘Round Setup’. Here you can manage what stats you want to be

active during the round, how many players you wish to be on the scorecard (the

GolfLogix application supports up to 4 player scoring), and the option to turn ‘On’ or

‘Off’ Aerial View of the course.

My Scoring & Statistics – The ‘Manage Stats’ button will allow you to select what

score-statistics you wish to have active while playing your round (see ‘Manage

Stats’ page 32). To change the active Stats while playing, go to ‘Settings’ and then

‘Manage Stats’. Statistics can only be changed while a course is downloaded to the

phone.

Golfers on Scorecard – You can add an additional 3 players to your scorecard for a

total of 4 players. Each golfer will be able to choose what score-statistics they want

active. The ‘Pencil’ icon allows you to edit the players name, email address,

handicap and what stats will be available to that player. The ‘Minus’ icon is to

remove that player from the scorecard (this is the only screen that can remove the

player).

Aerial View – Will download Aerial Imagery of the course for each hole, if available.

Add Golfer – To add a player, press ‘Add Golfer’ and you’ll have to enter the

players’ name, email address (optional), and their handicap (optional). The ‘Add

Golfer’ button will disappear when 4 players are added. Additional golfers only

have the ability to record their score/stats.

If the players’ have already been entered in for a previous round played, their

name will remain in your GolfLogix application. To select their name, press the

icon, select the players’ name and then press ‘Done’ when their named is

highlighted.

Players in previously

recorded rounds cannot be

removed unless that round

is deleted off the phone.

To remove a player, select

the player and then press

the minus button to the

right of the ‘Done’ button.

Aerial View – If you want Aerial Imagery of the course, make sure it’s turned on. If it’s

turned off, you will only see a general graphic of the fairway & green screens, it will not

show you an image of the actual hole.

To access the

Aerial Imagery

for a hole, press

the ‘Earth’ icon

on any hazard-

layup and green

screen.

Aerial View – In the imagery of the hole, you will be able to press on the map to

determine your approach, zooming in may help you better pin point. You will

then see your distance to the green to assist you with your next shot.

Play Golf:

Hazard-Layups Screen

Hazard-Layups Screens - These screens display all of the hazards, layups, and the

green center yardages on Par 4 and Par 5 holes. The ‘To Green Center’ line will

remain on the top of this screen at all times. Please note: GPS calculates a

straight line distance from where you are standing to the center of the green

whereas tee box plates read down the center of the fairway to pivot points on

the hole and then to the center of the green. Therefore, GPS distances and tee

box plates will never match up on Par 4 and Par 5 tee boxes.

When your location gets within 150 yards of a hazard-layup point, that hazard-

layup will automatically disappear from the list and the remaining hazard-layups

on the hole will move up the screen. The remaining hazard-layups can always be

seen by sliding your finger up from the last showing hazard-layups line.

When you are within 200 yards of the center of the green, this screen will change

to a Green Screen.

Green Screen

Green Screens - These screens always display the front-center-back distances to

the green when you are within 200 yards of the center of the green or playing a Par

3 hole.

You can use the ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ buttons on all Play screens to move to a

different hole. (Aerial Imagery green screen shown below)

NOTE: The scorecard option found in the

navigation bar at the bottom of the

application will allow access to enter

your score at any time. This feature is

explained thoroughly in the statistics

section.

Measure My Shot

Measure My Shot - At the bottom of all of the Hazards-Layups and Green screens, you can press the ‘Measure My

Shot’ button to calculate the distance from where you hit your ball to where it landed and then log which club you

hit. Pressing ‘Reset My Shot’ stops the ‘Measure My Shot’ calculation without logging a club. You will need to press

‘Measure My Shot’ before you start moving to where the ball landed for the calculation to begin. Then if you wish to

log your shot, press ‘Log My Club’. (Only available to Main player)

Log My Club - After pressing ‘Log My Club’ use the picker wheel to

highlight which club you used, then press ‘Continue Playing’ which will take

you back to the appropriate Hazard-Layups and Green screens.

Pressing the ‘Rounds’ icon at the bottom of the Hazard-Layups and Green

screens and then ‘Club Performance’ will take you to the screens where you

can view all your club distances ,or ,in ‘Previous Rounds’, you can view the

club distances for a specific round.

The names of your golf clubs that are showing in the picker wheel can be

edited by pressing the ‘Settings’ icon and then selecting ‘In My Bag’. This

can be done prior to your round of golf.

(Only available to Main Player)

Statistic and Scoring Features

Enter My Stats-Score

The Enter My Stats-Scores screen will appear 2 minutes after the green screen

comes up, or you can access this screen via the ‘Scorecard’ icon located on the

bottom of the screen and by pressing the ‘Edit Score/Stats’ button. All the

statistics have their own screen to go through for scoring. If you have 4 player

scoring set up, you will have to choose what player you’re entering the information

for (See 4 player scoring section, page 23).

The ‘Fairway Hit?’ screen – Only Par4’s and 5’s have this statistic. If your first shot

on this hole landed in the fairway, you select ‘Yes’ and continue to the next

question. If your first shot did not land in fairway, select ‘No Left’ or ‘No Right’

based on where it landed, then continue to the next question.

The ‘My Score’ screen – Will list 1-9 for your score option. Use your finger to

press and highlight your score for the hole. The GIR stat is automatically

determined by the score & # of putts.

The ‘# of Putts’ screen -Tracks only the shots hit while on the green, if

you putt from the fringe/rough it is considered a Chip. Incorrect entries will

lead to errors in the greens in regulation statistics.

Statistic and Scoring Features (Continued)

The ‘Chips/Sand’ screen -. Use your finger to highlight the number of

Chips/Sand shots you hit on the hole.

The ‘Penalties’ screen - Use your finger to and highlight the number of

Penalty shots you want to record on the hole.

Outcome of Missed Putts & Made Putt screen - Use your finger to select if

the putt was a Tap in, Short, Medium or Long. Each missed putt will give

you the option as well. On missed putts you’ll have to press on the segment

of your approach. (Only available for Main Player)

Press ‘Continue Playing’ to save your selections and advance to the next

hole.

Press ‘Multi-Player Scorecard’ to edit other players score-stats, (Only

available if an additional player is added)

Press ‘View Hole Summary’ to view your score-stats for the hole.

4 Player Scoring

If you have the 4 player scorecard active, you can press the ‘Scorecard’ icon and

edit each players’ score-statistics. You can choose whose score-stats you wish to

add/edit by pressing ‘Enter Score’. Then, once all the stats have been entered, if

you want to add another players’ score-stats, press ‘Multi-Player Scorecard’ and

choose the next player and repeat the process.

Rounds:

The Statistics and Scores screen can be accessed at any time by pressing the

‘Rounds’ icon located in the bottom of the screen. In this area you can edit or

view all rounds that you have stored within the application. The low and

average score is based on 18 hole rounds. 9 hole are no used for the calculation.

Previous Rounds – This option will allow you to see all your previous rounds. As

well as edit/delete the previous rounds played.

Cumulative Stats – When the cumulative stats option is pressed the

application will combine all of your recorded rounds into one summarized

report.

Club Performance – This option will show you the clubs recorded when you use

the ‘Measure My Shot’ option. You’ll be able to see the # of swings, longest

distance and average distance of each club.

Sync Score-Stat – This option will sync your stats to your personal Annual

Member website located at www.golflogix.com.

Rounds:

Multi-Player Scorecard

The Multi-Player Scorecard is accessible by pressing either ‘Scorecard’ for your

current round, or ‘Rounds’ for previous rounds played.

Here you can get a basic overview for each player and to get a more detailed view

of each person’s own scorecard, press ‘View Detailed Stats’.

Previous Rounds

Edit My Previous Rounds – Select the round you wish to edit and then press ‘My Score

Card’, this option will allow you to select the ‘Edit Score/Stats’ option so you can edit the

scorecard for the round. When this option is pressed it will bring up the same ‘Enter My

Stats’ screen described in the previous section. From here you can make any changes to

your stats and score cards and will be updated instantly. If you have 4 player scoring active,

you will be able to edit other players score-stats as

well.

Note: If you are currently playing a course, press

the ‘Scorecard’ icon at the bottom of the screen to

edit any of the holes you’ve played.

Previous Rounds (Continued)

Delete Previous Rounds - In the ‘Rounds Played’ screen, select the round

you wish to remove, press the minus symbol in the upper right corner and

press ‘OK’ when the message comes up for confirmation.

(Please note: You cannot delete the current round you are playing. You

will need to exit out of the application and then open it up again.)

My Round Summary – This option will combine all of your recorded stats from your

current and all previous rounds. It will summarize all statistics and scoring (Only

available to Main Player).

My Club Performance – Every time you measure a shot and log it with a specific club, the results are stored here.

GolfLogix will average each club for you, and even record what hole you hit the club on. (Only available to Main

Player).

If you press the name of club then it will display individual club stats for each hole.

Delete Club Performance - You will be able to delete shots that you’ve measured by pressing the minus button

to the right. You will not receive a confirmation to delete the shot, make sure you wish to delete it before

pressing the minus symbol. (Only available Main Player)

GolfLogix Community

The GolfLogix Community is open to everyone. However, as a GolfLogix Smartphone member you are able to sync

your rounds from the GolfLogix application to your personal Community profile. This will allow you to view and

manage your rounds from the convenience of your work or home computer. Visit the link below to login and view

your synced rounds as well as challenge your friends, create local tournaments and meet other golfers from around

the world:

If you do not have a GolfLogix Smartphone membership, feel free to join & participate in the community. You will be

able to do everything our Smartphone members can do besides sync rounds from the GolfLogix application to your

Community profile.

Transfer Membership – Allow you to

transfer your membership from one

supported phone to another supported

phone. You will have a transfer limit of 3

times and only one phone can have

membership associated to it.

Change Login Info – Allows you to

change your email login and password.

Update Billing Info – Allows you to

change your Billing and Credit Card

information.

Remove Community Profile –

Currently this option cancels your

GolfLogix Champion Membership.

Settings:

Set Defaults

From the setup tab you can access the default options. From here you can

set some general options to your user preferences.

Distance Unit - This option will allow you to change the measuring system

from yards to meters.

Auto-Lock – The auto-lock feature will allow you to turn ON or OFF the

screen auto-lock feature on your Android OS Smartphone while the

GolfLogix application is running.

Auto-Sync at Startup – This feature will automatically sync previous rounds

played when the application first opens up.

Registration Info

From the setup tab you can access and edit the registration information you

filled out when first registering the application.

Golfer’s Email – Update your email address.

Golfer’s Full Name – Update your name.

Golfer’s Phone – Update your phone number.

Once you have updated all or any fields, press the blue “Update” button.

In My Bag

From the setup tab you can access the ‘In My Bag’ option. This option will allow you to customize your club selection

list, as well as custom name each club. (Only available to Main Player)

Remove a Club – Select a club and the club will become highlighted orange, then press the minus symbol “–“ in the

top right hand corner. A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to delete the club.

Add a Club and Custom Name your Clubs – Press on the ‘+’ sign in the upper right hand corner to add or press on

the ‘Edit’ button to edit the name of any clubs you wish. When you add your clubs click the ‘OK’ button and your

club list will be populated with the changes.

Enable/Disable a club – Select the club you wish to enable/disable and press the ‘Edit’ option. Then, press where it

says ‘Enable Club’ to disable or enable it. An orange check mark in the box means the club is enabled for use; if the

box is empty the club is disabled. Once you enable/disable your club, press ‘OK’.

Manage Stats

The ‘Manage Stats’ feature will allow you to turn on/off any of the score

keeping options you wish. Keep in mind which stats you do turn off, as some

will affect the Scrambling statistic in the scorecard.

Update Scorecard Information

GolfLogix has over 25,000 courses mapped and we realize how often courses update or change their layouts. If you

ever play a course in which the par/handicap data is wrong you have the ability to update it instantly. A course has to

be downloaded to input par/handicap data. Once you have finished your update, press the ‘Submit changes to

GolfLogix’ button so that we can correct our master file for future rounds. When you have updated the information,

simply press the play button to see the changes immediately.
