At the zoo, there are many animals to see and activities to do. © Vanderbilt TRIAD
At the entrance I might get a map. I might pick an animal to see first or walk around without picking.

When I see the animals, I might look at them and talk to my family or friends about them. I might want to take pictures of the animals.

Sometimes there might be a lot of people looking at an animal or a line of people at an activity. I will try to stand behind people and wait until they leave to move up closer.

At the zoo I might eat. There are places to buy food or eat food that I bring.

There are water fountains and bathrooms. If I need to use the bathroom or get a drink of water, I can ask my friends or family.

Some places at the zoo might be loud. If I want a quiet space, there are some areas of the zoo my family or friends might take me to.

I will try to walk on the cement paths. Walking on paths will help protect the plants that are on the side.

There are zookeepers who might be wearing a blue zoo uniform. Volunteers might be wearing a brown zoo uniform. If I see a zookeeper or volunteer and want to talk to them, I will try to wait until they are not talking to someone. This will make everyone at the zoo happy. Zookeepers and volunteers might have information on animals I see.

There are animals to see inside buildings and outside of buildings. Some habitats might not have any animals when I’m at the zoo. If I see a habitat with no animal, I might go see another animal.

At the end of my time at the zoo, I will try to bring back everything I brought to the zoo. I might like going to the zoo.
